Rengoku sighed loudly, looking up at shinobu and nodding as she lectured him.

"I am very sorry! I promise I will finish the food."

He bowed his head respectfully, softly taking the bento box and setting it on his lap. Shinobu pinched her nose-bridge, feeling annoyance course through her. it was soo hard to stay mad at rengoku, he was just too nice. She crossed her arms and raised her eyebrows

"Your sure?"
"Yup!"

She hesitantly turned away, facing the other three boys again. She took notice of Tanjiros clear fidgeting. Shinobu stopped at the foot of his bed, looking down at him with concern

"Is something the matter, Tanjiro?"

Tanjiro looked up, and then towards rengoku hesitantly back towards shinbou

"Uhm... actually, yea. Can we talk in private please?"

Inosuke and zenitsu looked at each-other confused, curious to what was bothering him. Shinobu nodded, gesturing for Tanjiro to follow her out of the healing ward. She shut the door and smiled widely

"So what's wrong?

Tanjiro paused, should I tell her? he wondered, reluctantly ripping his gaze away from the door.

"Tanjiro?" She called out, tilting her head.
He sighed loudly. "Somethings wrong with rengoku."
"Yes, that's very clear- is that all you wanted to sa-"
"No, he smells... werid."
"Werid?"
"Yeah.."

Shinbou pondered, resting her chin on her hand as she thought. What does he mean, werid? I know this boy has a keen nose.. but possibly what could he be hinting at.

"What does he smell like?"

Tanjiro froze, scared to answer the question. What if he IS a demon? They'll kill him right away.. but, they might give him mercy- like Nezuko?

"He smells... like a demon."

Shinobu paused, her whole body becoming tense with worry.

"A demon?"

Tanjiro nods. She can tell their both worried, but if Rengoku was a demon, how come he hadn't eaten anyone yet? But it would also explain the not eating human food... and rapid healing. She knows tanjiros concerned.

"I can test him, we have demon blood samples from your sister."
"I think that'll be the best option."

Tanjiro watched as shinobu walked off into her office, the sound of her fumbling around with glass echoed loudly.

"Tanjiro, can you call rengoku to my office?"
"Of course, shinobu!"

Tanjiro yelled out, pulling the door open and peering into the ward.

"Tanjiro- your bac-"
"Rengoku-sama, shinbou wishes to see you in her office." Tanjiro interrupted.

Rengoku picked up his head from the food tray, glancing towards Tanjiro with a smile.

"Of course, thanks for letting me know young Kamado."

Rengoku stood, walking over towards the wooden door. As his hands came to grip the wood he tensed up, feeling the piercing stare of Tanjiro through his back. I have a bad feeling about this. He thought. Sliding the door open with ease and continuing on with his journey towards her office. He fought a cold sweat, don't go inside. Rengoku could practically feel his heart leaping out of his chest, and his ears began to ring loudly.

"Rengoku, I can hear you."

Shinbous voice brought him back to his senses. Just... calm down kyojuro. He told himself, stepping forward into the office. He sat down in a seat opposite shinobu, the two exchanging an awkward silence.

"I'd like to run a few test on you, just to make sure your organs are working properly." She smiled innocently.

That's a lie. - He thought

"It won't change anything about your treatment."

Somethings wrong, they know it too.

Out of worry he stood up, a blunt smile covering what his true emotions could be.

"I'm sorry, I have to go to the bathroom first..." He mumbled, stepping away.

"Rengoku-" she reached out, but he'd already disappeared. Rengoku stormed around the corner, and right past the bathroom. His lungs were beginning to burn.

It reeks of wisteria.

He thought, but initially was confused. The wisteria had never bothered him before. Rengoku continued to storm through the halls, a heat rising in his head. I don't feel well. A million thoughts ran through him, and his emotions all fought to take a place in him... but he's reminded of which one is the strongest when he feels his stomach growl.

I'm... hungry.
