Elle

Life had recently been calm, and despite growing up only knowing that way of living, now, it was like the calm before the storm, it always felt like there was something bad brewing underneath any good. Yes, it was a pessimistic mindset, but there was nothing else I could think of other than that.

I walked to my hotel bathroom and quickly opened my shower curtain when I suddenly heard a -thud-

- "Fuck!!" I shouted, running out of the room, closing the door behind me in a panic, leaving the humongous spider that had plummeted to the ground just take over the whole bathroom, maybe even the room if it wanted to.

Grabbing my phone off my nightstand alongside my change of clothes for the day, I walked out my hotel room, leaving the keycard inside before marching through the hallways looking for the room.

-101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 10...6!-

I knocked incessantly with a big smile on my face before that young face I knew and loved opened the door for me

"Charlie!" I said loudly, jumping forward to give him a hug, I heard him let out a gush of air from the soft tackle I had surprised him with.

He hugged me back and kissed the top of my head before I let go of my embrace against his body. With a warm smile, I watched him look me up and down, focusing on the pile of clothes I held with my left hand

"What was it now Elle?" He asked, his grin already apparent "Moth? Bettle?"

I've had my fair share of encounters with small animals in my hotel rooms to be honest, and the procedure was always the same. Running to one of the boys' rooms to get ready there.

I shook my head, my face filled with a mixture of horror and hatred "Spider"

His contagious laughter made my expression soften before becoming a slight nervous chuckle, Charles let me into his room so that I could get ready for the day.

I remember how unbelievable it was for me to have gotten this job. I was in my late 22's, basically just graduated with a bachelor's in mass communications and media studies, in urgent need of a job; after all my circumstances implored of a high paying profession. Now, merit where it's due, my dad had aided my name to get somewhere in the shortlist of resumés for Ferrari's latest position listing. But I never thought shortlist would become "Ferrari's new young Junior Digital Communications Manager" all around the motorsport news.

It was a big compromise, almost as big as it's check... It was heaven sent; I'd always said landing this job was one of my dad's final gifts to me, he'd always wanted to make sure his little girl was okay.

I performed that role for almost a year, before the head Media Manager position opened for applications due to some bad management, that was more of my preferred area, so, I applied. After all, I thought, what was there to lose?

Well, thankfully, it was a shot fired, shot landed situation, because a month later, I had become Media Manager, and was in duty of everything regarding content for the platforms. I was basically being paid to glue myself to the hip of my two drivers: Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.

Carlos, Carlitos de mi Corazón, Señor Chilly, he was my brother from another mother, molded by the same clay, we were friends from day one. Charming and always truthful, he was one to help me during my toughest times, scolding me even when it hurt him to do so and holding me until I fell asleep when my reality became too hard to live in.
