Not long ago, one of your father's friends divorced his wife. Your father knew that his friend was lonely. So he sent you to bring him some groceries.

Although you've known him since my teenage years, you've always had a crush on him.

When you arrived at his apartment, you rung the doorbell, making sure you looked good in the window.

After a few moments Valissi opens the door, cigarette in hand. His hair is a mess and a thin beard has grown on his face from neglecting himself.

(God he's so hot...) you said to yourself in your head before he snapped you out of it by speaking.

"Your father sent you, didn't he?" he smiles gently despite his tired expression.

"Yup!" You say happily.

"Come in"

He takes one last pull on his cigarette before tossing the butt into an ashtray.

He steps aside and motions for me to come inside.

You walk in while holding the groceries.

Valissi closes the door behind you. He glances down at the bags of groceries before looking you up and down, noticing how much you've grown.

"Thank you," he says with a smile. "You've gotten taller."

"I knowwwww" You smiled while you looked over yourself in the mirror he has.

Valissi chuckled.

"Time seems to pass quickly. I remember when you were a small teenaged girl who barely even reached my chest."

He walks over to living room before slumping down on the couch.

"Hahahaha. Yeahhhh. Time passes..." you laughed at it while you sat down the groceries.

He watches you continue laughing before sighing in the soft couch.

"Please, sit down with me" he says while gesturing at the couch.

"But that was like, what... 13 years ago?" You smiled and sat down next to him. "I'm 27 now. I js turned it a week ago."

"Right. Happy late birthday y/n." He looks at you sitting next to him.

"You've grown into a beautiful woman" he says casually, though, his eyes linger just a moment too long on your legs.

"Thanks Valissi" you said smiling.

He smiles back at you and then looks away, staring into space.

"Your father sent you up here because he's worried about me" he said while running a hand through his messy hair.

"Yup! So how are you doing?" You said while staring at him.

He rubs his messy beard and sighs.

"I won't lie, I could be doing better" he admits honestly. "I'm sure your father told you about my divorce"

You suck air through your teeth sharply "yeahhhh....."

He nods silently, his eyes fixed on the table, still rubbing his beard.

"I'm just going through a rough time. Lost my job and got divorced." he says with a bitter chuckle.

"Hey... you still got us..." you placed your hand on his knee somberly.

His expression softens and he looks at your hand on his knee.

"You're right." he says quietly, his voice filled with appreciation. "I'm grateful to your father for supporting me through all this. And to you as well of course"
