{3rd Person POV}

A blue gate opened in a frosty forest surrounded by white trees, little yet frigid snowflakes fell from the sky as they blanketed the ground in a coat of white snow. From the blue portal, a man emerged covered in layers of thick clothing to block out the cold. He pulled his fur hood down, gazing at his surroundings warely.

Nothing but trees and snow as far as the eye could see. It looked almost, 'pretty'. Pretty enough to fool someone from thinking this place is full of danger.

But underneath that fake exterior was without a doubt a trap, laid just in the open enough to fool most, but not so obvious it would alert the prey approaching. At least... That's what Rex felt his senses were telling him...

Rex: ''Hm...*Sniff**Sniff*''

It was difficult to smell in this weather, the cold was freezing his nostrils. But he did pick up the faint scent of iron somewhere close by, which was odd as he couldn't see any natural sources for that smell to come from...

*WOOSH*

*CLANG*

Two arrows suddenly flew from the foliage, one aimed at Rex's head and the other aimed at his knee. His reflex was quick enough to grab the one coming for his head out of the air while the second bounced off his knee like a rubber ball, the faint outline of a spectral piece of armor appeared for just a split second.

Following the direction where those arrows came from revealed a small, well-hidden spot among the trees. There two cloaked figures hid among the leaves and snow with bows in hand.

''KeKeKe''

Dark silhouettes, hidden behind the foliage. Tall figures that jumped like grasshoppers between each tree, difficult to keep track of and done just to throw him off. Keeping his eyes on them wasn't easy but it did pay off, and revealed a bit more about them.

They were humanoid beings clad in blueish clothes with white hair, long limbs and cold eyes. They were a bit too far away for his [Observe] to let him scan them, but given the apparent qualities of those two it was easy to deduce what kind of monsters they were...

Rex: ''(Ice elves.. Wonder how much more are you going to rip off of Solo Leveling, system)''

Confusingly enough, the elves didn't continue their attack. Seeing as the sneak attack failed, the two disappeared among the trees. The monsters showed a worrisome level of intelligence.

Rex: ''(Targeting two weak points at once and then leaving... Those guys were definitely a scouting party, gotta be careful)''

Not wanting to stay in the open, the gamer moved towards the forest. As he pushed branches and leaves aside, he came across a path.
