(Kayla's POV)

Love? when you think of love you think of looking across the classroom and making
eye contact with a "cute" boy like in those stupid romance movies,
but that just doesn't stick with me, for me i always pictured that
"cute boy" to be my best friend cassie. She's the typical blue eyed blonde haired girl in my school and she's popular, i never understood why she of all people would be friends with me.

As the loud ass school bell snapped me out of my thoughts i felt a hand on my shoulder,
i turned around and seen my other friend val "oh hey val" i said looking at her smiling
"girl i was saying your name like 15 times i thought you died or something"
she said laughing as she stepped over the short wall i was sitting on.

"yeah sorry i just zoned out for a second" i said putting my glitter pens back in my backpack,
"more like fell asleep" she said sitting beside me "are you thinking about her again?"
she said gesturing towards Cassie who was gathering her stuff class with her friends,
"yeah i was- well am- listen i don't kno-" i was cut off by Cassie coming up to us
"hey kay hey val! ready to walk to class girls?" she said happily as she reached out her hand for me to grab it
""uh yeah of course" i said grabbing her hand as i got up.

As we walked to her class together we talked about our life and school, i zoned out looking at her, i loved her blue eyes and the way she smiled made me get butterflies in my stomach, no amount of words could describe how much i loved her, she was my world, my everything, as we got to class i snapped back to reality "welp ill see you after class kay kay!" she said kissing my cheek and walking into class "oh bye cass" i said as the teacher closed the door in my face, i took a deep breath in and walked to my class.

I walked into my class and saw val doing her work, i sat across from her and started doing my work while listening to my music, after an hour class ended and i turned in my work and i started to walk to lunch, val ran after me in the hallway "kay wait up!" she said coming up to me "huh? oh hey val what's up" i said smiling at her "cassie and i are going to get some chick-fil-a wanna come?" she said gesturing towards cassie behind her "oh uh sure i dont have any money though" i said laughing as i started walking towards cassie.

I walked to cassie as she was on her phone "oh hey kay, are you coming with us" she said grabbing my hand "oh uh yeah i just dont have money to get food" i said laughing nervously "i pay for it girl" she said as we all walked to the chick-fil-a across the street, when i was around cass my life felt..right i loved her but why? my mom would never accept me for liking girls and i was raised to not like the same gender since it was "sinful" but i didnt care i loved cassie and i didnt care what my mom said.

We got to chick-fil-a and we walked into it, i ordered a spice chicken sandwich and a coke and sat down while the other two ordered their food, i went on my phone and went to instagram to just look at random posts when i saw a photo of cassie and..some guy? who was he and why was he with cass? "stalking my instagram stranger?" i heard cass say behind while holding our food followed by val laughing and winking at me "oh uh i was just scrolling through insta and you popped up with some..guy" i said truthfully "oh yeah thats luke he is like kinda my crush? im not sure yet" cass said smirking "speaking of boys..do yall like anyone yet? i think aiden and kayla would be a cute couple" cassie said winking at me as she took a bite of her burger, val looked at me then at cass, signaling me to answer.

I was hesitant at first wondering if i should come out right here in front of my best friend, "o-oh uh yeah i think that too" i said in a soft tone, fuck why didnt i just tell her the truth! "see! i told you val they totally are a perfect match! her tomboyness and his emo style totally clash" cass said smiling then going on her phone, val then went on her phone and texted me.
