Rimuru's POV

I was trudging along with Ramiris and Treyni through the verdant Jura Forest. The gentle earth seemed like a carpet as it absorbed our footsteps, and the refreshing wind rustled the foliage far above. I set out on a quest today, a unique one with the power to alter Treyni's course of events. We weren't looking for any old tree—we needed a tree good enough to lay the groundwork for Treyni's future life.

I commented, "Here it is," as I paused before a particularly impressive tree. The thick, robust bark exuded an aura of age-old knowledge.

Ramiris flitted over to be at my side, her expression exuding pure interest. She questioned Rimuru, "What are you planning?" while placing her little hands on her hips.

I looked to her, smiling faintly. "I intend to use this to provide Treyni with a new body," I said, retrieving a spirit core from my dimensional storehouse.

Her eyes widened as soon as Ramiris saw what I was getting at. "I see... If you utilise it, Treyni won't be chained to the Jura Forest anymore!"

I nodded. "Exactly. She'll now be free to follow you and serve as she chooses, without being held down."

Treyni, who had been discreetly following us, peered at the spirit core with amazement and hope. I could tell how much this meant to her. She had always been committed to her duty in the Jura Forest, but her commitment to Ramiris was as intense. This new shape would enable her to accomplish both.

I started the operation by chopping down the tree, careful not to harm the bark. Using the bark, I fashioned a body that would be robust and fit for holding a strong spirit like Treyni. Once the body was ready, I filled the spirit core with a part of my energy, strengthening its strength and stability. I then turned to Treyni.

"Treyni, are you ready?" I asked.

She nodded, her look firm. "Yes, Lord Rimuru. I am ready."

"Then please, take residence within this core."

Treyni closed her eyes as her body started to shimmer, melting into pure energy. That energy rushed into the spirit center, which surged with a brilliant light before settling into a steady glow. I gently inserted the core into the body I had made, and within seconds, the body sprang to life. The bark altered, becoming smooth and flexible, taking on a humanoid shape resembling Treyni's initial look but with heightened strength and freedom.

She knelt before me, her new figure wonderfully flowing, and spoke with earnest appreciation. "Thank you, Rimuru-sama. Now, I shall be able to serve Lady Ramiris as I have always wished."

I smiled at her, delighted with the outcome. "No problem, Treyni. I'm delighted I could assist. Now, let's get moving. We have Walpurgis tonight, and we shouldn't keep the other Demon Lords waiting."

With Treyni's metamorphosis complete, we went back to my office. I spent the day preparing for the evening's Walpurgis Banquet. Tonight was a full moon, and Shuna had excelled herself by creating a new Demon Lord suit for me—a sleek black jacket with fur trim and a matching black dress. It was fashionable, comfy, and emanated the air of power I required for the next function.

As the evening arrived, I tried to kill time by having a small chat with Ramiris and Veldora, who had joined us in the office.

"So, Ramiris," I started, fixing the collar of my new attire, "can you tell me more about the other Demon Lords? I've heard some things, but I'd want to know what I'm up against."

Ramiris, always ready to boast, perked up. "Sure thing! There's Guy, who's the leader of the Demon Lord Council. He's immensely strong and a bit of a mystery, even to the other Demon Lords. Then there's Milim the Destroyer, who's famed for her enormous power and childish nature. The three of us were the original Demon Lords, the strongest of the bunch."
