11. Hunting Part 2

I smiled slightly. I had been looking forward to hunting for a while now.

I couldn't wait to find my victim, to hear their screams. I wanted to learn from it. Improve my tactics, I had only practiced on a bird before so I needed to learn before I could be properly good at it.

'Cool,' I said, trying to hide my excitement. 'Who are we hunting?'

Jeff chuckled, 'not who, but what.'

I learnt that this 'what' was not what I was expecting.

We walked through the halls I had come to know so well in the past week or so. I carried my weapons everywhere so we didn't need to go get them.

We went out into the gardens and through the forest.

I was confused as when I had tried to escape before it had just went in circles but now we made progress and after only a few minutes walking, made it to our destination.

Where we came was amazing. It was a huge patch of stone floor. There was talk walls around the outside of the place and smaller ones coming in that had climbing things on it.

There seemed stages on the wall and the further you got to the outside the taller the walls were.

There was small metallic things flying about making a high pitched, yet quiet, noise as it zipped past.

There was arrows shooting about the place and throwing knives hitting targets.

'What is this place?' I asked Jeff stopping next to him.

'This is the sphere, it's where you'll be training.'

I didn't realise what he meant by sphere until I took a proper look.

Around all the walls there was a dome going all the way up and around it into the ground where I suspected it did the same thing so that if you dug all the ground up it would actually be a glass sphere.

It was nearly completely invisible and I was sure that it was close to indestructible.

'But.. I thought we were gonna be hunting humans,' I said disappointedly.

'Nope, this is where you're going to hunt, it's the training grounds after all. You're just not gonna hunt humans.'
