The week following the trial was a whirlwind of activity for Riley, her family, and Jordan. Despite the busy schedules, everyone was content and relishing the newfound normalcy in their lives. The boys continued their construction jobs with renewed vigor, Avery was thriving at the convenience store, Jordan was putting the finishing touches on her house project, and Riley was excelling at the Rainbow Café.

Mahina, Riley's mom, had finally found the courage to file for divorce from Clarence while he was serving time. Embracing her freedom, she started exploring new hobbies and interests, rediscovering herself after years of oppression. The family took great joy in seeing her so happy and independent.

One evening, after a particularly hectic week, the family and Jordan secretly planned a surprise for Riley. They all left work early, dressed up in vibrant rainbow attire, and eagerly awaited Riley's return home. When she finally walked through the door, tired but smiling, they greeted her with a chorus of excited voices.

"What's going on?" Riley asked, her eyes wide with curiosity and delight at the colorful sight before her.

Jordan stepped forward, holding a small rainbow flag. "We have a surprise for you, Riley. We're taking a family day trip to a drag show, to show our support for you and us."

Riley's eyes filled with tears as she looked around at her family and Jordan, all beaming with pride and love. "You did all this for me?"

"Of course," Mahina said, stepping forward to hug her daughter. "We love you, Riley. And we love Jordan too."

As they gathered their things to leave, Avery cleared his throat, drawing everyone's attention. "I have something to share too," he said, his voice trembling slightly. "Since we're going to a drag show and celebrating who we are... I wanted to tell you all that I'm bisexual."

A moment of stunned silence was followed by an outpouring of love and support. Mahina hugged Avery tightly, her eyes filled with pride. "We love you just the way you are, Avery."

Riley's heart swelled with happiness as she saw her brother being accepted and loved for who he was. She hugged him fiercely. "I'm so proud of you, Avery."

The family piled into their cars and headed to the drag show. The atmosphere was electric with excitement and anticipation. They arrived at the venue, and Riley's eyes lit up at the vibrant decor and the throngs of people in colorful costumes.

They laughed, cheered, and danced as the drag queens performed spectacular routines, the energy in the room infectious. It was a night of celebration, not just of their acceptance but of their resilience and love for one another.

As the final act came to a close, the spotlight suddenly shifted to the audience. Riley looked around, confused, until she saw Jordan standing in the center of the stage, holding a microphone.

"Riley," Jordan began, her voice steady but filled with emotion. "From the moment we met, I knew you were someone special. We've been through so much together, and I can't imagine my life without you. You are my rock, my love, and my best friend."

Jordan reached into her pocket and pulled out a small velvet box, opening it to reveal a sparkling engagement ring. "Will you marry me?"

Riley's breath caught in her throat, tears streaming down her face as she nodded vigorously. "Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!"

The audience erupted in applause as Riley ran to the stage and threw her arms around Jordan, kissing her deeply. The family joined them on stage, hugging and congratulating the newly engaged couple.

That night, as they all danced and celebrated together, Riley felt an overwhelming sense of peace and happiness. They had faced so many challenges, but they had come out stronger and closer than ever. Surrounded by her family and the love of her life, Riley knew that no matter what the future held, they would face it together, hand in hand.
