Devon's POV

Today is Jake's 19th birthday, and while he's out with his Aunt Bree and Uncle Logan Lexy, Junior, Oliver, Nadine, Grant, and I decided to stay here and decorate this house for his surprise birthday party. I walk into the kitchen and check inside the oven, making sure if the cake is almost done or not. I'm making Jake his favorite cake, carrot cake, I've made it for him every birthday of his since we started dating. Lexy comes storming into the kitchen holding a big birthday bag in her hand.

"Okay Devon, I want your opinion on this," Lexy says, reaching her hand in the bag. "Do you think Jake will like this?" She pulls out a decent sized canvas with a very detailed painting of Jake and I.

"Are you kidding, he's going to love this!" I exclaim, looking at the picture closely.

"Great" Lexy says gleefully. "So, where should we put this?"

"Put it in my closet in our room, my closet is the one on the left" I answer.

Lexy exits the kitchen and I close the oven, the cake should be done in about ten to twenty minutes. I walk to the living room and the first thing I notice is Junior and Oliver swapping spit on my couch. I let out a quiet chuckle as I approach them slowly. I hover over them as they enter their tongues into each other's mouths.

"Alright lovebirds, we're here for Jake's birthday party, not a showcase for each other's affection" I say, chuckling as they look at me.

"Come on Dev, it's not like we don't see you and Jake doing this all the time" Junior replies.

"Yeah, but that's not when we're in the middle of decorating for someone's birthday party, now let's finish this up, he'll be home any minute now" I explain, gesturing my hands to get up.

Junior and Oliver give each other a peck on the lips, a quick but loving kiss. They reluctantly jump off the couch and head over to the table overflowing with streamers and balloons. I grab red and black streamers, Jake's favorite colors, and start draping them along the walls of our living room. Grant and Lexy grab the balloons, also in colors of red and black, and the helium and start filling them with the floating substance. After Grant filled a balloon up, Oliver walks over to him and grabs the helium, inhaling it like it was a vape.

"Hey guys, hear this!" Oliver shouts, sounding like a chipmunk. "Three little birds pitched by my doorstep, singing sweet songs of melodies pure and true."

"Sounds sweet, you really should audition to be a part of Alvin and the Chipmunks" I return.

Oliver playfully flips me off, and I do the same, throwing a red streamer in his direction, and with it's low weight it falls to the ground before it could go to him. The stove beeps and I quickly run to the kitchen, grabbing the kitchen mittens Jake got for me for Christmas. I open up the oven and pull the cake out, sitting it on top of the stove. It's finally done and it looks soooo delicious.

Jake's POV

Uncle Logan pulls up to the little coffee shop in town and turns off the car, Aunt Bree grabs her purse and we all exit the car. We walk up to the entrance and burst through the door, the smell of coffee forcing its way into our nostrils. As we approached the counter, the barista, a friendly young woman with a bright smile.

"Good afternoon! Welcome to Starbucks!" The barista greeted us with a chipper.

"Good afternoon!" we all respond in unison.

"What can I get for you lovelies today?" she asks, her smile widening even further.

"I'll have a venti caramel macchiato, please," Bree says, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.
