"Sensei..." I say struggling to keep my eyes open and awake from the beat down I just got from Kyler and his friends. "Ah shit" Lawrence says, "Give me your phone." I reach into my pocket through the pain and hand him my phone. "How do you work this thing" Lawrence asks. "The password is 8679" I mumble. "Where's your girlfriend's number" Lawrence asks. "The green phone button" I mumble out, "And click on the one that says Quinn." I fade out until I hear, "Oh my God Eros. Are you okay?" "I just want to sleep" I mumble out. "Let's get you home" Quinn says as I get picked up and pass out.

I groan as I feel someone shaking me awake. "Ugh..." I groan as I slowly sit up still a bit sore from my fight with Kyler and his friends. "You alright? Mom was super worried last night, so was I. What happened" Quinn asks, "Also dad made banana-rama chocolate chip pancakes if your hungry." "Sore and starving" I reply. I change as quickly as possible through the pain and then walk back downstairs to get some pancakes. "Sam" Daniel calls out and the door slams. I sit down at the table and grab a couple of pancakes, "What happened there?" "Dad embarrassed Sam in front of Kyler" Quinn says, "Now what happened between the time you went to talk to Aisha to when...Miguel called me."

I quickly glance up and over at Daniel not wanting to rat out Kyler in front of him since Sam is dating him, "I uh...Miguel was getting ganged up on again so I stepped in to help him but I'm a bit rusty." "Should have guessed that" Quinn says. "If you want, I can teach you a few moves" Daniel says. "As long as we can skip all the chores" I say. "The chores are-wait how do you know about-who are you" Daniel asks. "Right I should properly introduce you" Quinn says, "This is Eros Wolf." "Wolf" Daniel says, "As in Veronica Wolf? Your her daughter?" "Um" I say as awkward silence fills the air, "She's my mom and my name's Eros Wolf now so..."

"Dad..." Quinn says. "You're her...that isn't...this..." Daniel says, "October, why would you do this to yourself?" "It's Eros dad" Quinn says. "Because I wasn't comfortable in my own body and didn't feel like myself" I say, "I know it's a lot to take in...but this is me." "I...I'll see you later" Daniel says, "I have to get to work. Don't be late." Daniel quickly grabs his things and leaves. "It's fine Quinn" I say, "He just needs some time." Amanda joins us as we finish breakfast before she leaves and tells us not to miss too much school. We end up missing the first two periods since I was icing my bigger bruises. Quinn drives us to school and I meet up with Miguel in between periods.

"Senei's closing the dojo" Miguel informs me. "Damn..." I say. "Yeah. My mom was pissed when she found out I had been taking karate lessons behind her back" Miguel says, "And she told Sensei to stay away and never speak to me again." "I'm so sorry bud" I say. "This sucks" Miguel says, "Kyler and his friends are going to keep bullying me and I won't know or have a way to defend myself." "Hey, you still have me. I got your back no matter what. Kai brother's for life, remember" I say "Um how are you holding up? They didn't rough you up too bad did they?" "Thanks to you" Miguel says, "Still a little sore but how are you?" "Very sore" I reply as we arrive at class and take our seats as the lesson starts.

During study hall me, Miguel, Eli, and Demetri are in the library. Miguel tells them about Lawrence closing down the dojo. "So that's it then" Demetri asks, "No more karate?" "I guess so" Miguel says dejectedly. "It's probably for the best" Demetri says, "It was starting to boost your confidence." "Isn't that a good thing" Miguel asks. "No" Demetri says. "How is that not a good thing" I ask. "I'll tell you why" Demetri says, "What has confidence ever gotten anybody except for a black eye and their backpack thrown in the trash?" "You are such a debbie downer, ya know that" I ask, "And why are you always so negative?"

"Well I thought it was kinda cool how you two stood up to Kyler" Eli says. "Are you insane" Demetri exclaims, "Let me ask you, what is the best power anyone could have?" "Super strength" Miguel immediately answers. "Enhanced abilities" I say after Demetri gives Miguel a look. "Wrong" Demetri says, "Invisibility. A distant second would be super speed to run away fast." "Run away from who" Kyler asks popping out of nowhere. "Great..." I say under my breath as we start to grab our things. "We were just leaving" Miguel says.
