And there I was.
Contemplating the view I was so accustomed to.
The great city.
I was always told to feel proud of living here, to lift my head and say I was part of the capital.
But all it takes is a bit of thought, and you'll see it's not as grand as everyone says.
A lost gaze repeated in everyone, they all looked the same, they all walked the same.
Life in the capital can be good, but of course, only if you're part of the royalty, you know, like my parents.
And don't think I'm like one of them. Even though I'm locked up, I do what I can here, and sometimes, looking through my window is the best form of entertainment.
That's when Dev isn't around.
Dev is my brother, he's sort of a galactic adventurer, super incredible, traveling to other galaxies and planets.
Every now and then he brings me souvenirs from his expeditions, though they're usually strange gadgets and devices that I have no idea how to use.
Sometimes I think it's amazing how he can travel the universe and I can't even leave my room.
Talk about favoritism, huh?
Night had fallen.
Nights in the capital were silent and calm, unless there was some disturbance or something unusual that interrupted the nocturnal flow.
I didn't sleep much, to be honest.
And I promise I'd try to go to bed early, but I can't find any motivation, especially when I know this boredom will just continue...
My brother was on an expedition and had told me he would return in about two days. His destination was a planet called "Earth."
The name isn't bad.
But it's definitely not comparable to "The Grand Aria." In fact, it seems like that "Earth" copied the name from one of our colonies.
Aria was where I lived, and I'd like to say the name reflects a bit of what the planet is like, but at least what I see from my window doesn't have a shred of "Grand."
Earth is a newly discovered planet, and so far none of our people have gone there.
My brother would be the first to go.
Honestly, I'm scared something might happen to him.
I know he's the best pilot in all of Aria, and well, he's my brother, right? If he shares genes with me, he should be at least a bit as great as I am.
Who are you kidding?
And well, that was the basic routine every day.
Looking out the window and waiting for something good to happen.
Dreaming and imagining myself living great adventures, just like my brother, just like Dev.
Two days later

I was alone at home.
Since I was born, I've always been alone.
I don't have many memories of my parents; they forgot about me when I was young, and since then, left me in the care of my brother Dev.
My parents, who by the way, are also the kings of Aria.
