Sonic is dead (discontinued)

Chapter 14

The sun was setting, casting an eerie orange glow over the ruined landscape. Broken buildings and shattered roads stretched as far as the eye could see.

Tails and Sonic stood in the middle of what used to be the town square. Dust and debris still hung in the air, and the faint sound of sirens and distant cries for help broke the silence. Sonic, usually so full of energy and confidence, seemed lost. His blue fur was streaked with dirt, and his usually sharp eyes were filled with uncertainty.

"We have to help," Tails said, finding a hint of resolve in his voice. "There might be survivors. People who need us."

Sonic nodded, his determination slowly returning. "You're right, Tails. Let's start with the closest buildings and work our way out."

As they worked, they found and helped numerous townsfolk, guiding them to safer areas and providing comfort where they could.

Hours passed, but they didn't stop. Not until they had scoured every corner of the town. The sky grew dark, and the first stars began to appear. Exhausted, they collapsed onto a patch of grass that had somehow remained untouched by the disaster.

"We did good today," Sonic said, his voice hoarse but filled with a sense of achievement. "But there's still so much to do."

Tails nodded. "We need to contact Knuckles and Amy. This is bigger than just us."

Sonic smiled weakly. "Always thinking ahead, buddy. That's why I count on you."

Just then, a faint beeping sound caught Tails' attention. He reached into his backpack and pulled out his phone. The screen flickered to life, showing Knuckles' concerned face.

"Tails! Sonic! Are you guys okay?" Knuckles' voice crackled through the device.

"We're fine, Knuckles," Tails replied. "But the town... it's bad. We need all the help we can get."

"We're on our way," Knuckles said firmly. "Hang in there."

The call ended, and Tails looked at Sonic. "Help is coming."

Sonic nodded, a glimmer of hope in his eyes. "We'll rebuild. We'll make it better than before."
