Virginia Beach, VA
Two Days Later

Ana sat at the counter, scrolling through her Instagram timeline as Kimora prepared breakfast for them. If they felt like it, the two usually rotated days on who cooked breakfast—leaving the other to figure out plans for dinner.

"So, what are you going to do now?" Kimora glanced over her shoulder at Anastasia.

"I don't know." Ana let out a heavy sigh. "My mom said she would talk to my dad, but I haven't heard anything."

"Account still empty?"

"Yeah." She put her phone down and laid her head on the countertop. "I wish I had parents like yours. At least your dad lets you live your life. Mine still thinks he has control over me."

"You've done the hard part, love. You just have to keep it pushing. I hate it for you too, but nothing will change it." Kimora told her.

Before she could form a response, her phone started ringing. She lifted her head to see who was calling, and of course it was Giovanni. She slid the little white icon over to answer the call.

"Burger King, how may I help you?" Anastasia said into the phone, earning a laugh from Kimora.

"I'll take a chicken, egg, and cheese biscuit with an orange juice." Giovanni replied with a laugh. "Girl, quit playing with me. What you doing?"

"Just sitting here. Mo's fixing us some breakfast."

"Ooh. I called right in time, huh?" She could hear the playfulness in his voice as he spoke.

"It ain't enough for you!" Kimora hollered from the stove.

"Whatever." Giovanni laughed. "Is it cool if I drop by?"

"Go ahead." She picked her phone up and texted the door man to let him know to let Giovanni up.

"Cool. I'm on my way up now."

"Okay." Ana said before she ended the call. She then got up from her seat and went to unlock the door. She walked back over to the counter and sat back down.

"I see this is going somewhere." Kimora turned the stove off and put the top over the pot of grits she had just finished cooking.

"We're friends." Ana shrugged her shoulders.

"Whatever." Kimora grabbed three plates from the cabinet and walked over to the counter. "Y'all were enemies at one point. I wouldn't move too fast if I were you."
