Rosalie had no time but to fulfil her quest within twenty-four hours; failing to do so would result in her death. Violet immediately searched for a plan while her apprentice zoned out, unable to assess the situation.
"We should find some players in this area," said Violet, packing her belongings. "Hey, crybaby! Are you even listening to me?" she waved her hands before Rosalie's eyes.
"Sorry... It's just sudden! Robbing someone's resources... I'm not as experienced or strong enough as you! What if I get caught? I do not want to kill anyone." Completely devastated, Rosalie thought of the worst scenario that could happen.
"You will go nowhere with such an attitude, young lady," Violet interrupted, gaslighting her. "I already told you. If you want to survive in this world, you have to go beyond your limits. Be selfish! Do not expect anything from anyone; your kindness will kill you here."
Violet's expression suddenly changed when she remembered her husband's gentle smile as she looked at Rosalie. "You do not have to worry. I will help you. You have not finished your training yet, so there is no time to lose."
Rosalie's eyes brightened, and a sentiment of gratefulness enveloped her tightly. Tears fell on her cheeks as she abruptly hugged her mentor. Taken aback, Violet froze for a second, embarrassed, until she tapped her gently on the back.
"Thank you...," Rosalie said in her arms. "Thank you for not giving up on me."
"Nonsense! Do you always say such silly things?" Violet backed up to a comfortable distance. "Now, pack your things before I change my mind."
Wiping her tears, Rosalie executed her mentor's orders, smiling foolishly. Ready to hit the road, the two women headed to another area, hoping to target a potential player to complete the task. After walking for two hours, they perceived a building tucked away.
Violet decided to watch the place from a secure distance as she had a hunch someone might stay there. Time was running out as Rosalie checked the remaining time left; already five hours had passed, and she started to lose faith since no one had appeared.
"Maybe no one is in there," she whispered, unable to contain her impatience.
"This place is the ideal hideout. There must be someone in here, but before attempting to go, we must make sure we know who we are confronting."
Having Violet by her side was reassuring. Despite being stressed, she relied on her mentor and followed her directives. Thirty minutes later, to her surprise, someone entered the building—a woman who seemed to be alone. One question remained: how could Rosalie complete the task?
"I was right to follow my intuition," proudly said Violet. "Now, we have to figure out how to proceed." Violet smirked, savouring her victory.
"Okay, crybaby," she pursued, charging her gun. "We are going to enter; we need to secure your time left as we do not even know what could happen inside."
"Wait! I do not know if I am ready enough... Would it be better if we plan something?" Rosalie could feel her anxiety rising as she evaluated the potential risk awaiting them. Sighing, Violet put her hands on her fragile shoulders.
"I will be here," the woman softly assured. "Rosalie... If you do not take risks in this world, you are bound to die. Remember your strength; you are the only one who can save you."
Rosalie, grappling with her reservations, understood that she had to prioritize her survival. The fact that Violet could not intervene during her task only added to her unease. Trusting in Violet's wisdom, Rosalie stepped into the player's whereabouts, her determination unwavering.
