Y/n and Michael sat there, the telephone cradled between them. The unsettling call had left a lingering unease, and they decided it wasn't worth pursuing any further.

"Let's just ignore it," Y/n said, hanging up the phone. "It's probably better this way."

Michael nodded, his brows furrowed in thought. " If you say so."

After a brief silence, Michael's expression brightened. "Are you still up for that date tonight?"

Y/n's face lit up with a genuine smile. "Yes, definitely."

Ness, who had been listening nearby, interjected with a hint of curiosity, "Are you guys going to a restaurant?"

Michael shrugged nonchalantly. " Where else?"

Y/n turned to Ness, her eyes softening. "Do you want to come with us?"

Before Ness could answer, Michael shot him a scary glare, mentally commanding him to decline. Ness, catching the message loud and clear, quickly responded, "No, it's fine. I'll stay back. I have some training I need to do anyway."

Y/n raised an eyebrow, suspicious of his sudden dedication to training. "Alright, just don't go too hard on yourself."

Ness nodded and left the room. Michael also got up to leave. "I'll get ready. Oh, by the way, I left a surprise for you in your closet."

Y/n's curiosity was piqued as she watched him leave. She walked over to her closet and opened the door to find a beautiful blue dress adorned with roses and a matching set of shoes. She smiled to herself, realizing that Michael had probably bought this for her secretly when they went shopping.

Feeling touched by his gesture, Y/n headed to the bathroom. She ran the water through her hair, cleaning herself slowly and methodically. She took her time applying lotion, letting the fragrance seep into her skin. She applied a tiny bit of foundation, just enough to even out her complexion, then tied her hair with a string, placing a veil on it to lay it down. She slipped into the dress and shoes, the fabric feeling luxurious against her skin. Finally, she applied a rose-like fragrance, the scent enveloping her in a comforting embrace.

As she turned to her desk, she saw her rose diamond necklace. Reaching for it, she paused, remembering her sister. A vivid flashback hit her, taking her back to a haunting memory.
