TechLines Orbital Station, described briefly as "Earth's orbital science & research station", was a new-age technological marvel during its time in the early 22nd century.

Preceding TechLines, its predecessor was Azure Station. Azure operated for thirteen years under the steady command of Cmdr. Jonas Forrester Whitmore.

The station endured a complete technological overhaul, during which it was rebranded, its senior commander stepped down, and a younger commander stepped up.

The station, now named TechLines, is commanded by Cmdr. Thomas Samuel Decker.

Decker has proven to be both adept and proficient, despite his new position of command.

His perceptive ability to understand the needs of those serving under his command, combined with his quick, rational decisions have earned him respect among the crew and loyalty among the command staff.

TechLines relies heavily on technology and automation, in contrast to its lesser-dependent predecessor from times past.

The Command Mainframe's name, AzTech, is a combination of both "Az" in Azure and "Tech" from TechLines. It was formerly an experimental supercomputer named Azura aboard Azure Station.

The addition of her personality was to make her more personable, as the crew would interact with her often when preforming tasks.

She is the station's leading artificial intelligence, overseeing all systems and always providing her services to the crew.

The command staff consists of the sharp-witted executive officer, Nicholas Christian Steele, who oversees the duties of the crew. His demeanor is punctual, and is ever-precise when on-duty, which compliments his commander's less restricted attitude. He tends to follow protocol strictly but can relax appropriately when the time is right.

The commendable security chief, Christopher Van Roberts, regularly ensures the safety and security of every crewmember aboard. Always seen with his weapon within reach, he has a gruff yet amenable attitude, and gets along fine with most of the crew.

The technology-wary chief medical officer, Joel Benjamin Sterling, trusts his own medical practices more than the advice of the sickbay computers. Always a bit argumentative with the station's Mainframe, his well-meant concerns aren't always understood by the crew. He takes comfort in the knowledge that the humans are still running the station.

The charismatic operations chief, Hannah Emily Taylor, is often seen running diagnostics and software checks on the station's computers when not frequently refilling her coffee mug. Her warm countenance and cheerful grin make her well-known across the station for being easy to talk to about anything.

The reserved research & development officer, Brian Andrew Maples, mostly keeps to himself. A quick-learner by nature, he has a textbook knowledge of the station's systems, and works in conjunction with the Operations department to install new technology or test experimental systems. Off-duty Maples tends to wind up in the recreation deck, either studying reports of recent discoveries from the science department or intricately perusing through mystery novels. His mind leaves little room for mental rest.

The amiable head engineer, James Edward Calvin, is the ruddy-faced hospitable officer sporting a mild southern drawl. Usually found with a wrench in his hand and a determined smile on his face, he tends to the ever-active reactor and rarely is found idling during duty-hours. His good-natured jokes make him easy to understand, and his exaggerated engineering stories put others in a good mood.
