Skylar's POV
"Hey Sky. I didn't know you were working today?" Raven said. Raven is my absolute best friend. She is gorgeous. She has long wavy blonde hair and hazel brown eyes. She is also a waitress at our quaint little 24/7 diner.
"I thought I should make a little extra more cash." I said tying the apron around my waist.
"You work way to hard. We should have a girl's night out. It will be fun." She said smirking.
"Ya it does sound fun." I said smiling.
"Good because I got an extra ticket to the Carson Bass concert, and you're coming with me." She said leaning in like she was telling me a secret.
"Whose Carson Bass?" I asked. She stared at me like I just said I wanted to have a threesome with Elton John and Adam Sandler.
"Oh god. Uh he's only the all time hottest and greatest singer in the world. He's also my future husband." She said in a duh tone.
"Oh okay. Wait don't you already have a boyfriend." I asked.
"Ya but doesn't mean I can't dream of a future without him." She said. I just stared at her oddly. The little bell at the door signalled that someone was coming in. There was not many people around. Just a few high schoolers, kids, and elderly peole. Raven nudged me and I turned to look at the door.
I instantly frowned. My ex Jonathan Ward was piercing his emerald eyes at me. I broke up with him a few days ago because I just didn't feel that spark anymore. Sure it was a lame excuse, but I strongly believed in true love not just lust. Which was the only feeling Jonathan felt for me.
"Hi can I help you?" I asked him.
"Look Sky. I really think things can work out between us if we just tried." He said placing a hand on my cheek. I swatted his hand away and gave him a deadly stare.
"Don't give me that bullshit Johnny. We all now you just want me for sex." I said.
"Well maybe it was like that before, but we can change that. I can take you out on a real date. Give me a second chance." He said.
"I don't believe in second chances. Now if you're not going to order anything then please leave." I said gesturing to the door. He frowned before leaving. I letted out a sigh of relief.
Just when I thought the annoyance was over I heard high pierced shrieks coming from the booth full of pre-teens. I walked over there with annoyance etched onto my face.
"Please stop screaming. Some people are trying to eat quietly. So I suggest you keep quiet unless you're dying from food poisining, or else you'll be kicked out." I said in a sickly sweet tone.
"Geez old lady, but how can we keep quiet when there's a Carson Bass concert in a week." Said a ginger with pig tails. Old lady? I'm only 19. I just finished my first year of college, and I'm turning twenty in a month.
"Exactly how old is Carson?" I said to the girl.
"He's only 21." She said along with a few other girls.
"I'm freaking 19. So why don't you shove your pig tails in your brain. Since you obviously don't know how to effin count with that useless brain of yours." I said. Her green eyes were glassy and tears were pooled in the corners of her eyes.
She started running out of the diner. I looked to her friends waiting until they'd run after her, but they just sat there talking and laughing. What the hell is wrong with these girls.
I ran out the door since it was my break anyways. I didn't see her. All I saw were other stores and cars zooming on the streets. I might know we're she is. I went to the back of the diner. There was a little broken down swing set there, but there was also a beautiful big oak tree that always caught peoples' eyes. I came here a lot if my break.
I let out a sigh when I saw her sitting in the only non-broken swing. It was dark, but I could tell by the pig tails in her shadow, that it was her. She was wiping her eyes and was staring at the ground. I walked over and sat on the ground beside the swing. She stiffened when she felt my presence.
"Go away." She said in a hoarse voice. I frowned. I made kids cry. I was a monster.
"I'm so sorry. I guess I've been having a really bad day, and I took it out on you." I said. She stayed quiet.
"Hey what's your name?" I asked softly.
"Leslie. Leslie Bate." She said.
"I'm Skylar. Skylar Chadwick." I said smiling.
She looked up at me. Her sad face made me frown. "Just so you know I don't even like Carson Bass's music. I just say it to fit in with those girls, but they still don't like me." She said with tears streaming down her face.
"Hey what I learned my whole life is to be yourself. If they don't like you for you then they're not worth it. Find a better group of friends." I said patting her back awkwardly.
"Okay. I should go now, but thanks." She said getting up.
"No problem kid. If you ever need advice then you know where I am." I said. She smiled and started walking away.
She paused in her steps and turned to look back at me. "By the way you're to pretty to be an old lady." I laughed at her retreating figure.
I got up and dusted my jeans. I saw a tall and built frame sway over down to the oak tree. He collapsed right under the tree. Oh god. I quickly got up and jogged over to the tree. Right when I got there I was hit with the stench of alchohal. How much did this guy drink?
I supported my arms under his head. He was wearing sunglasses which was odd since it was night. So I took them off. I went off guard when I saw his handsome face, but I finally broke out of my train of thoughts. Those gorgeous blue eyes, his messy brown hair, and the v-neck that clung to his muscular frame was a complete turn on.
"Uh we have to get you home." I said trying to pull him up.
"I don't want to go home. It's to lonely in that house. Plus the maids won't allow me to have sex with them." He said pouting. He looked completely adorably, but then I scrunched my nose in disgust at what he just said.
"What's your name?" He said touching my hair.
"Skylar. Skylar Chadwick." I said feeling a sense of déjà vu.
"What's your name?" I asked him.
"You don't know my name?" He said amused. I shook my head. His pretty blue eyes lit up.
"I'm Brian. Brian Mayer." He said, and then he fell asleep. Great now I have to take him to my apartment.
