"Have you thought about moving closer to Giyuu?"

You and Mitsuri were having a conversation over some tea. She had come over to talk in her spare time in between missions. Then due to her close proximity to her mission and your place of residence she had decided to set a palette there the night before.

"Are you kidding, the whole reason I moved out here was because of the rumors of demons spreading in my old village. Out here nobody is none the wiser about the whole demon crisis. I'd prefer to live where there is little to no demon activity.''

While smiling you took another small sip of your tea. While living near or with Giyuu had been brought up by him multiple times, you'd rather not need a body guard to go get food. Giyuu didn't live near many people, at least in your current residence, there was a higher density of people. You even planted a few Wisteria trees by your home just in case. Any of your neighbors questioning it you'd just say it was for decoration.

"What about seeing him, doesn't he live kind of far?"

Actions ceased, you held your tea cup mid air lips parted as you recollected your thoughts. That was true, some days he wouldn't visit due to how tired he was. The trip would take a few hours to a day depending on if he was tired or not. While it was inconvenient you convinced him that you would be safer where you currently were.

"Well yes, I.. I don't mind though I'm safer here anyways."

A calming hum came from Mitsuri, her eyebrows showed concern. While you said you were okay with it you didn't fully mean it. You missed Giyuu you were lonely, sure you can wonderful friends but sometimes you wish you could see him more. He's already a busy Hashira doing his job and protecting lives. You never wanted to get in his way so you convinced yourself everything was okay.

"I'm sorry, I over stepped-"

"No! Mitsuri, you were just curious it's okay. I'm fine its just the first time I have questions my actions."

Trying to uplift the mood you asked about her love life. Which she happily obliged, talking about Obanai and there meet ups. Soon minutes turned into hours and Mitsuri decided to leave for her next destination. When you allowed her to take some of your snacks she smiled and politely accepted. Mitsuri ate a lot and needed the extra calories for her trip to her next pit stop. Once gone it was just you alone with your thoughts. You racked your brain with ideas of how it would be possible for you to see Giyuu more often.

Speaking of the Water Pillar, he kissed your forehead. His soft lips were hard to miss, while you did jerk up a bit in surprise you quickly calmed. You felt safe and with a quiet sigh you smiled up at him as he took off his Haori.

"You kind of scared me Giyuu I didn't hear you come in," you chuckled placing down your tea to give him a hug. He reciprocates your advances and pats your head in a warm embrace. It took a lot of time for him to become this comfortable with you. When you first confessed to him he was a blushing mess, you always thought it was so cute how nervous he got around you. You were his first relationship, and you made sure to take extra care of him to help him combat his self esteem. Affirmations and praise were a routine ritual, promises that you would never leave him was clockwork for you. Encouraging him to stand up to Shinbou's teases and Sanemi's remarks, telling him that if he thought he had no friends, it was a lie cause you were there.

"Did you have a good day at work?"

Smiling up at him, you looked into his blue eyes. You could get lost in them, you honestly wanted to. Giyuu looked at you with a look of surprise on his face, heat began rushing to his cheeks. You could visibly see him gulp as he looked at you, "Yeah?" You chuckled burying your face into his chest. "What's so funny?" He said genuinely confused as to what you found so hilarious. He had to admit while your words of praise and affirmations helped, his mind couldn't help but slither back to negative thoughts. "You are, you get so flustered when you see me it's so cute I can't help but laugh."
