A teenage girl was getting ready for her last day of sophomore year. This girl was named Betty.

Betty was a sweet soul with wavy brown hair, pale skin, big, brown, dough eyes, and a sweet smile.

She was putting on her favorite cardigan, it was cream colored, chunky yarn, with grey stars on the elbows, and a black border around the seams.

Betty walked down stairs and saw that her mom and dad had already left. She grabbed her bag and got into her little yellow car. She looked in the rear view and started to back up. She noticed the freckles on her face. They started to show more with the approaching summer.

As she pulled into the parking lot of her high school Betty saw her best friend, Inez, standing by their usual parking spot.

"Hey Betty!" She yelled as Betty stepped out of her car.

"Hi Inez." Betty was soft spoken. Inez, however, was the exact opposite. She was very tall and slim compared to Betty's petite build. She had long, straight, black hair, cool blue eyes and she wore thin, round, golden, framed glasses.

"So did you hear about Toby and Lilly?" Inez knew everything about everybody.

"Inez, you know I hate to hear you gossip."

" I know, I know, but this is really important."

A young boy got out of his truck and walked through his school's parking lot. His name was James. As he walked towards the door people stoped and talked to him several times. James played baseball and was very popular in his high school.

James was tall, he had light brown hair, he had hazel eyes, he was fit, and pretty attractive. He walked over to a small quiet girl, and her loud outspoken friend.

"Hey babe." James said as he hugged Betty. Betty turned to see James, her big eyes squinted into a smile.

"Hey James." He planted a soft kiss onto Betty's lips.

"Ewwwww you guys make me sick." Inez said as she fake gagged.

"Inez, always a pleasure." James said through gritted teeth.

"Right back at you James." She said with a wink.

James and Inez never really got along. Inez believed James wasn't good enough for Betty, and James just thought Inez was annoying.

The sound of a blaring bell pierced through everyone's ears.

"Well we better go to class guys." Betty said turning towards the building.

"Your going to the beach over break?" Betty and James were sitting in on bench after school was over.

"Yeah we are leaving Monday and staying until the second of August." Betty was astounded.

"James you can't just leave all summer. Especially the one before your senior year."

"Betty it'll be ok. You and Inez are going to have a great summer."

"Ok I guess." Betty leaned into James and he put his arms around her and hugged her.

"I love you so much Betty." She looked up at him.

"I love you too James. You're the best person I've ever met." James placed a small kiss on Betty's forehead.
