As the carriage approached the palace, many thoughts occupied the mind of the sultana.
It had been so many years since they had last come face to face.
How ironic life is.
Mahidevran came to the palace as a princess of sorts but was as everyone else a concubine. That is until she gave birth to her only child sehzade Mustafa. Giving birth to prince Suleiman's first child earned her the title of sultana. This is a title she held till the end of her life. But due to the struggles of the harem and her eternal crusade against Hurrem she ended up loveless, childless and destitute. While Alexandra LaRossa was the daughter of an Orthodox priest who was captured and taken to the Crimean palace. From there she was later taken to Istanbul to be a concubine in the harem of former sehzade now sultan Suleiman Khan. The sultan took a liking to her and she was quickly promoted to favorite. As so she became a thorn in mahidevran side, as mahidevran had the Valide sultan, the sultans mother, in her corner they often attacked her together.
It was as a result of this the rift between them began to deepen and his love for Hurrem become more prominent, so much so that she made history by becoming the first woman to be the official wife of a sultan.

The carriage finally arrived at bursa palace, the only property left in the name of mahidevran sultana and her residence. An aga led her to the chamber where mahidevran was waiting for her. Her maid fidan hatun then stepped out leaving the two alone.
As they stood there quietly, looking at each other the tension that was ever present whenever they were in a room together seemed to have parted and a sense of resignation taken settled over them both."Hello mahidevran how have you been?"
"I'm as well as I can be Hurrem. What brings you to my humble abode ?"
"I come to ask your forgiveness, I know we have not always seen eye to eye. We have fought and we have lost. I ask forgiveness for whatever sins I have ever done against you, and wrongs done towards you.
Will you for give me?""I know you don't have much time left to live. So I forgive you but it is not my forgiveness that you should seek, it is god's.
Goodbye Hurrem.""Goodbye mahidevran."
It was no secret that both women wished the downfall of the other but the one difference between them was that Hurrem only did what was necessary to protect her and her children whilst mahidevran fought out of undue jealousy.
Throughout her life she was always to that she was a slave even when she was freed from slavery by the sultan himself. Hatice sultana, shah huban sultana and Fatma sultana all uses this over her stating that they had the blood of the dynasty in their vains and Hurrem will only ever be a lowly slave.
Now at the end of the road hatice committed suicide, shah huban was banished as was Fatma. Valide died and mahidevran was banished. At the end of the century of strife and struggle Hurrem is of royalty and all future generations of the ottoman dynasty will carry her blood for it is her son that shall succeed the sultan upon his passing.
She came to the ottoman palace Alexandra LaRossa, the slave but she leave the palace Hurrem sultana, wife of Suleiman the magnificent and mother of sehzade Selim ( heir to the throne), mirimah sultana( the sultana of the sun and the moon), sehzade Mehmet ( the pure ), sehzade Beyazid (the brave) and sehzade cihangir (the wise).
