"What about this one?" Elena asked, pulling a dress from the top of her closet and handing it to Olivia. The red fabric shimmered in the light as Olivia accepted it, holding it up to her body and gazing into the tall mirror in the corner of Elena's room. The dress was soft against her fingertips, flowing and elegant in a way that made her smile.
"I like this one." Olivia's lips curled into a grin as she caught Elena's reflection in the mirror. Her eyes shifted back down to the dress, amazed at how perfect it seemed. The shade of red was bold, and the cut hugged in just the right places without being too tight.
Elena beamed. "I knew you'd love it! Put it on!" she called out over her shoulder as she dove back into the depths of her wardrobe, still hunting for something to wear herself.
Olivia couldn't help but chuckle at Elena's enthusiasm, as she changed from her clothes to Elena's dress, the fabric glided down her body like water, settling perfectly into place. She adjusted the straps, giving a quick twirl to see how it moved.
"Does this town do this a lot? These events?" Olivia asked, her voice slightly muffled as she finished zipping up the dress. The question had been lingering on her mind.
"Kinda," Elena replied from inside her closet, her voice slightly distracted as she rummaged through a pile of clothes. "But something always happens, so don't worry about being bored. It's never just a normal, quiet night around here. Not since everything with the vampires started. You'll see soon enough."
Elena emerged from the closet, holding a sleek black dress against her chest. Her eyes sparkled as she looked at Olivia standing in front of the mirror. "Wow, that dress looks amazing on you! You have to wear it tonight, no question. Stefan's gonna lose his mind when he sees you in that."
Olivia smiled, smoothing her hands over the fabric. "Thanks. It feels perfect." She turned, admiring the way the dress fit her curves in just the right way, the deep red color making her hazel green eyes pop in contrast. "Are these events always like this?" Olivia asked, stepping closer to the mirror, adjusting her hair slightly as she tried to imagine the night ahead. "I mean, does everyone go all out like this? Or is it just us?"
Elena paused for a moment, pulling on her own dress as she thought it over. She then smiled and shrugged. "Pretty much. It's like this town thrives on making a big deal out of everything. But trust me, that's a good thing. Everyone loves to dress up. It gives them an excuse to forget about the... you know, vampire craziness for a night. You'll see tonight. You won't be bored for a second, especially with Stefan around." Elena gave Olivia a playful nudge, winking as she said his name.
