Chaewon and Minju broke up 2 months ago, because Minju had to focus on her studies because of her parents who thought she was falling behind. They never really ended it on a bad note, they are still good friends to this day.
"Hey bitch." Yena said as Chaewon closed her locker door, taking her by surprise.
"Could've gotten a warning." Chaewon said as Yena nudged her playfully
"Oh, suck it up." Yena said as they walked together to their next class
"So... what else is new?" Yena said, they've been friends well over 5 years now, they practically know everything about each other
"...just shut the fuck up and walk faster, we're both gonna be late at this rate." Chaewon said which to Yena playfully pushed her for, they pushed each other all the way till they got to their class, making them look crazy.
They sat down at the back, right next to each other, at the back so they had less chances of being called on by the teacher.
In came more and more students to which they never really payed attention to, till smart 'ol' brunette came in.
She scanned the classroom on where to sit, usually she would sit at the front smack down at the middle so the teacher would call on her more, but to Chaewon and Yena's surprise, she sat down at the back, next to Chaewon.
She slung the strap of her backpack on the chair as Chaewon made subtle glances at her. The teacher came in shortly and started the lesson.
A few minutes in to the lecture, Minju smacked Chaewon's hand from below the desks to pass her a note.
"Hi :)" The note read, Chaewon side eyed her as Minju looked at her with an innocent smile.
Chaewon wrote back, "Hi" then passed it back to her
Minju wrote back, "wanna hang out after classes?"
"Can't, I've got tutoring." Chaewon wrote and passed back
"I know, silly, I'm your tutor today" Minju wrote and passed back
"Oh. Then sure, after tutoring." Chaewon wrote and passed back
"Okie :)" Minju wrote and passed back and then endless saga of note passing stopped when the teacher noticed and took their note.
time skip
Classes ended, the tutoring session ended as Minju and Chaewon packed up their things. Minju was the first to talk.
"Still down to hang out?" Minju said, not taking her eyes off of Chaewon
"Yeah. Where though?" Chaewon asked, not engaging in eye contact with her
"Just by the park, I've been needing to talk to you." Minju said, then Chaewon finally looked at her
"..Okay." Chaewon said with a pause, as they turned off the lights in the room and walked out of the school and to the park.
They actually played for a while there, there were no kids in the slides or swings cuz kids nowadays are too busy on their iPads.
They both got tired and sat on a bench, then Minju finally remembered what they came here for.
"I need to tell you something.." Minju said, eyes gazing at her shoes
"Hm?" Chaewon simply replied with a hum.
"I found someone new." Minju said bluntly.
What?
"...oh." Chaewon replied, not knowing what to say
"You've moved on that fast?" Chaewon said, not wanting to make any eye contact with the latter
"I just needed someone to distract me from you." Minju said, like that made things any better
"So a rebound? Why do you need to be distracted from me?" Chaewon said, feeling an empty pit in her heart
"It's not that I need a distraction from you, I just needed to move on quickly." Minju said, voice subtly cracking, feeling tears swell up in her eyes
"Why do you need to move on so fast? We just broke up." Chaewon said, feeling a mix of emotions
"Because I'm still into you, Chaewon." Minju said and finally broke.
"It wasn't my choice to break up with you, I still love you." Minju added, voice cracking as she spoke, sniffling every now and then.
"But you're already taken, ju. Why do still love me?" Chaewon replied
"I just do." Minju said crying against Chaewon's shoulder
"Don't. You'll just hurt yourself even more." Chaewon replied
"But I can't—" Minju was cut off when Chaewon suddenly stood up from the bench
"Just let go of me, Minju." Chaewon said as she walked away from the latter.
