Kiam and Levi stood next to the warmed hood of the Lamborghini they had just stolen. Well, stolen wasn't quite the most accurate word.
The men stood before a familiar Russian face. A burly man with a bald head. Levi believed that the mans nose was the heaviest thing on his body. His eyes were green as the pastures of Israel and was of average height and stature.
His english was decent. However, the Russian accent simply could not be hidden.
His name was Bogdan.
Bogdan rubbed his chin with thought as he observed the vehicle he sent them to recover. "I'll give you ten-thousand." he said plainly.
     "Each?" uttered Levi.
"No," responded Bogdan. "That's five thousand each, or however you Americans choose to divide your spoils."
Kiam was about to speak, but Levi quickly intervened. "It's a deal." Kiam gave the man a dark look.
Bogdan gave an empty smile before saying, "Pleasure doing business with you, Americans." He went back into his car dealership to retrieve a bag filled with cash.
"You outta ya damn mind, Priest?" said Kiam, whose face said all it needed to about what just happened. "I thought you said this would pay decent.
"It's a solid gig, nigga." Levi placed his hands on Kiams shoulder reassuring him. "It gets better over time. He is just taking the temperature of our loyalty and devotion."
"By short-changing a mah'fucka?" Kiam responded. "These shits go for six figs."
"Relax, G. It's only temporary." Levi said. "Just have faith in me."
Kiam lived around Levi long enough to know that those words were never good.
Bogdan returned with the bag, which contained the cash, and handed it to Levi. "We'll be in touch."
Levi nodded, and with that, Bogdan returned to a man who seemed interested in purchasing a motorcycle.
Levi walked over to a nearby decade-old Honda Civic and opened the doors. Kiam rode passenger. As they both got seated, the engine cranked.
"Trust me, cuz." Levi stated. "It's only the start. I ain't gon' lead my nigga astray."
Kiam, who was looking out the window, simply just chuckled.
