The first of September. A new school year. But not as usual for Amelie in France. No, but in England. She had lived in France with her mother for many years until she returned to England 2 years ago and Amelie had still lived with her grandparents. But now, for no apparent reason, Amelie had to leave her school of Beauxbatons behind, move to England and attend the Hogwarts school.
Although she was an Englishwoman, her mother, who came from France, was able to attend the magic school there.
Now she stood on track 9 ¾ and a large train with a steam lock with the inscription "Hogwarts Express" stretched out in front of her.
A lump spread in her neck. Alone on the track, without friends or her mother, she stood lost.
Although her mother had told her to stick to her cousin, she had not seen him for at least 4 years, which she was secretly happy about. Because her cousin's family were all fanatical purebloods. She could not understand how she could be related to these people. But it was her father's family. But she hadn't seen him since she was three years old. Her mother had never told her the reason and since then she had lived in France and only came to visit England from time to time.
What should she do now? She couldn't run to everyone and ask if he was Draco Malfoy. That would make herself ridiculous.
A look at the clock revealed that she only had 5 minutes left to decide before the train left.
She had no choice but to get on the train on the off chance, to get a seat and with a lot of luck, she found her cousin by chance. Even if she didn't feel like talking to him, let alone spending time. Draco Malfoy was in her eyes a person who hid behind his parents and behaved arrogantly, even in childhood. That even though he was just twelve years old. But she doesn't know anyone except him. A new look showed her that she now had to hurry. It was three minutes before departure.
She quickly took her suitcase, her cat Mystic's cat basket and her handbag and huried into the nearest wagon. She quickly pulled out her magic wand and murmured "Wingardium Leviosa" to maneuver her suitcase into the train.
She hurriedly got in, put her suitcase with the others, took the cat basket from Mystic and her handbag and looked for a compartment that was not yet completely filled. And there it was. A compartment in which only three boys sat. In terms of age, she suspected that they were in her year or above. Insecure, Amelie looked around. Should she really go to the three guys? Was there really no other compartment in the wagon where there was a place for her?
Normally, she was not insecure or shy. Quite the opposite. She was always one of the most popular in her old school and one of those who could open her mouth. But now, completely alone she was much harder than she had thought.
Still undecided, she stood in the hallway with her bag and Mystic, which was peacefully slumbering in front of her.
Suddenly the door opened, from that compartment she didn't dare to enter.
"Who are you? I've never seen you here or in Hogwarts." She heard a person ask with a grin.
And suddenly the other two also got up and also stood at the door. Their blue eyes met dark, almost black. A feeling of notoriety spread in her. In his eyes, Amelie realized that the person was also the same. His eyes widened in surprise and immediately darkened.
And then it dawned on Amelie and it almost fell off her eyes like scales.
Marcus Flint. Her former best friend before she moved to France. The one she last saw at the Malfoys almost four years ago.
Immediately the events of that time shot into her head. Exactly she could still remember that she was happy to see him again at the time, even if they hadn't seen each other for years. But he had already changed so much at that time that he had constantly put them down and ridiculed them again and again. It went so far that she had left early and had sworn to never want to have anything to do with him again.
