Nikshay a.k.a.Nik :

As I walked out of the restaurant, I pulled my jacket and tucked my chin to my chest. It wasn't proper winter had arrived and yet it was icy cold; cold and wet because of heavy rain just minutes before.Finding my way through the crowd I crossed the street and headed towards the car parking. It was just a little past 7 and I was forced to run back to my oh so silent apartment that offered everything but mental comfort, when all I had wanted was to move, groove and have fun with my friends at our favourite club just like every other weekend. But all our plans got ruined because of sudden change in weather which was getting bad to worse by every passing minute.

Loud and clear I could hear the rolling of thunder which promised one hell of a night. As I spotted my car at the end I pulled out my keys and quickened my pace. Looking forward to the warmth of heater I could already imagine my night with a warm beer, cold take out dinner and something useful or entertaining if I could find, to watch on TV.

Well to some it might sound boring but most of my days had been like this ever since I could remember except for some special weekends that I got to spend with my family on festivals and with my friends which was why today I was feeling extra sad and bored.

Not far behind me I could hear people's voices either excited or cursing this messy weather. As a gust of wind ruffled my hair, something slammed into me right from behind. I stumbled but regained my balance as a little pain erupted through my right shoulder where that thing had collided. But turning around I was a little surprised to find it wasn't something but someone.

Behind me on the ground was a boy streaked with dirt and pale white face. His look was as if he had seen some ghost or something like that. No wonder he was running this fast he was scared of something or someone. Even though I could still feel the pain but might be because of his shocking or surprising look I reached out my hand to him and asked,"Are you alright kid ?"

It was as if he was out of his trance. He immediately got up but stumbled a little. Grabbing my extended hand to regain his balance he sprinted past me whispering a "sorry" clear enough for me to hear and turned towards a dark street.

I sighed thinking as to what happened and then bent down to pick up my keys that fell on the ground because of our collision. That's when I felt my hand was all sweaty. Actually it wasn't sweaty but wet and it had something thick and red dripping out of it. But surprisingly I wasn't feeling any pain in my hand and I was sure I wasn't hurt that badly anywhere.

And that was when it struck me it wasn't me but....him. It was his blood.
