"After a year"

"First day of school as a high school student, I'm so happy because I will have new classmates and friends," Jay was very excited.

"Wow, this place is beautiful! There are so many rooms, the school buildings are so tall, and this place is so spacious," he was amazed at what he saw.

"I need to find where my room will be. Where could the Grade 7 rooms be? Hmm... There, I found the Grade 7 rooms, and now I just need to find my name on these papers stuck to the doors of the rooms."

"There, I found my name. My room will be Seven Ruby," he said happily because he found his name.

"And Jay entered the room."

"There are so many room sections here, unlike in my elementary school where there was only one room," he thought to himself.

"Ring!!! Ring!!! Ring!!!" the alarm clock sounded.

"Good morning, class! I am Jen Ocampo, your teacher for MAPEH and your adviser for the entire school year. Since today is the first day of school, let's start by introducing ourselves one by one. You, in the front, can you stand up and introduce yourself?"

Hello, I'm Roy. I live in Malacampa, Camiling, Tarlac, and I am 12 years old. My hobbies are writing songs.

"The students applauded."

"You have nice hobbies; you must be good at singing," teacher Jen said jokingly.

"Just a little, ma'am," Roy said shyly.

"Okay class, who wants to introduce themselves next?" teacher Jen asked.

Hi, I'm Angel. I live in Mayantoc, Camiling, Tarlac, and I am 12 years old. My hobbies are drawing and writing stories.

"Wow, you probably dream of becoming a story writer or a great artist," said teacher Jen.

"Yes, you are right, ma'am," Angel said shyly.

"And in those moments, Jay was just staring at Angel as if he had seen an angel."

"You, wearing the black shirt! You can introduce yourself now. Hello, you in the black shirt!"

"Sorry, ma'am. I apologize, I didn't hear you right away," Jay replied in a gentle tone.

"Why are you daydreaming and staring at Angel?"

"And the students suddenly made noise, saying 'YIEEEE.'"

Class, be quiet, now stand up and introduce yourself.

Hi, I'm Jay Garcia. I live in Caanamongan, Santa Ignacia, Tarlac, and I am 12 years old. Nice to meet you.

Jay sat down from his standing position but noticed that it seemed like his classmates were whispering about him.

"Look at him, he's so fat," one student whispered.

"Yeah, he's really fat," another whispered.

Almost all of his classmates were whispering and talking about him because of his appearance, and because of this, Jay felt embarrassed at that moment.

"Be quiet!!! It's the first day of school and you're already treating your classmate like this? Didn't your parents teach you good manners?" Teacher Jen shouted angrily.

The students who were whispering and talking fell silent.

"First day and you're already making me shout. Kids these days are really something," Teacher Jen remarked.

While Teacher Jen was reprimanding the students, another student suddenly came in, looking angry.

"Why are you just arriving now?" Teacher Jen asked.

But the student did not reply.

Introduce yourself before you sit down.

Yo, I'm Jose Morales.

And Jose suddenly sat down in his seat.

"Kids these days are really something, acting like they're all that," she said while scratching her head.

"Ring!!! Ring!!! Ring!!!"

Okay class, 15-minute break. After 15 minutes, come back to the room immediately.

As Jose was leaving the room, he suddenly tripped and his classmates laughed at him.

"What's so funny?!" Jose shouted angrily.

"You, why did you trip me? Did you do it on purpose?" he asked Jay.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to. I didn't see you coming. I'm really sorry," Jay said, sounding scared.

"What did you say? You didn't mean to? You didn't notice me? Follow me after class."

Suddenly, Teacher Jen entered the room.

"What's going on, Jose? What are you doing to Jay?" she asked.

"Nothing, ma'am. I'm just making friends with Jay, right Jay?" He put his arm around Jay's shoulders as if they were friends.

"Is that so? Alright, sit down and let's start our lesson."

While Teacher Jen was teaching, Jay couldn't help but worry about what Jose had said to him, making it hard for him to focus on the lesson.

After the lesson, it was time to go home.

"Goodbye class, see you tomorrow," said Teacher Jen.

"Goodbye, ma'am. See you tomorrow," all the students replied.

Teacher Jen and the other classmates left the room, and suddenly Jose approached Jay.

"Hey, fatty, follow me," he said to Jay.

"Where are you taking me?" Jay replied, scared.

"Just follow me."

"Jose took Jay to the bathroom where there were no other students."

"Why did you do that to me?" asked angrily.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to."

"Are you sure?"

"Y-yeah."

Suddenly, Jose punched Jay in the stomach.

"ARGHHH!!!" Jay writhed in pain.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to do that either," Jose said mockingly.

"Why can't you speak? I said I didn't mean to," Jose continued.

Jay couldn't speak due to the intense pain in his stomach.

"Get ready, Jay. This isn't the only thing I'm going to do to you. Be prepared because your entire year at this school is going to be miserable," Jose said, tapping Jay's shoulder before leaving as if nothing had happened.

"Arghhh, it hurts, it hurts so much. I need to get rid of this pain before I go home because I don't want Grandma to see me like this," Jay thought.

Jay rested for a while to ease the pain in his stomach before heading home.

"Grandma, I'm home."

"Jay, you're back. Why do you look so tired and red? Did something happen to you?" Grandma Teresita asked worriedly.

Don't worry, Grandma, I'm just tired from school.

Is that so? Come here and eat so you can relieve your tiredness.

Okay, Grandma, thank you for the food.

"After eating, Jay quickly went to his room."

"I wonder what happened to Jay. He seems weak today and didn't even finish his food," Grandma Teresita worriedly thought.

"In Jay's room"

"My stomach hurts. I can't eat properly and didn't finish my food. I'll just sleep it off so I won't feel the pain in my stomach," and then he suddenly fell asleep.

"Jay didn't know what Jose meant by his words, and because of that, this is where Jose's bullying of Jay began."
