Maeve's POV.

We've been riding for 20 minutes now after looking at just one house.
It was good, and gave such comfortable feels but it was too big for me..
It'll be me and Sasha staying so an apartment will do enough for me.
Also, I'm looking for something that'll fit in my budget...

I don't know why but sitting next to Sal is kind of weird.
I don't mean like it's not good, but like something is up..
Sal is looking at me in between while driving and then too when we were in the house.
I didn't really notice then cause I definitely don't expect anything like this but it hit me when I was talking to him and his eyes lit up like literally...

And also when I was looking through the car window and then I turned my head and he was watching me all that time.
It felt.. weird. Just weird.
Not in a good way, not in a bad way.
I mean, he's a really good friend to me and I don't think about if any of that should be ruined..

He's the one who called me up and my life changed.. and he was the one who insisted on taking me in XO.
I owe him big but not like this..
It's just I don't really like anyone looking at me like that instead of...Abel.
I know I didn't like him since the start and I STILL don't do somehow, but it never felt weird when he looked at me or came close or.. touched me.

It's not like I like it when he do all that..but somehow I do.

Okay, I know I sound crazy.
I meant to say I never felt weird or any kind of unsafe whenever he was the one doing it.. that's all.
But seeing Sal do something like this is just so unusual.

"Hey you alright?" I heard Sal asking on me, getting me out of the thoughts.
"Yeah.. sorry I zoned out" I say making myself comfortable in the seat..
"So.. let's talk about something" he says and I turn my head to look at him.
"Uh sure.." I think it'd be good if we talk instead of just sitting in silence.
"Do you have a boyfriend?" My eyes go wide at the question.. I mean, isn't it a bit too straightforward?

"Uhm no..not at the moment no" I try to brush it off.
"So have you ever had any?" 😐
"Yeah..but it was long ago" I don't want to talk about my past and shit cause it makes me super uncomfortable..
"Why did you break up though? did he cheat on you or something? Well, if he did then no one's dumbest than him.."
"No.. it's just, time changes everything" I don't say anything more and just hope that he don't ask anymore...

He was about to say something, just then my phone goes off.
Abel..
My mind instantly took his name.
What?
I picked out my phone and saw two text messages from..Abel.
"Hey..you good?"
"How's it going? Just curious ;⁠)"

I found myself smiling a little and I probably look like a stupid teenager right now.
I looked from the corner of my eye that Sal was kind of trying to look into the phone but I put it away..
Why is he acting like this? I've never seen him being like this ever before.

Thankfully, we reached the apartment to look into and a man was outside with the keys..
He caught him in a talk and I'm glad I have the chance to reply Abel.
"It's fine i guess..just reached the second place to look for" my mood is automatically good all of a sudden which I thought was impossible for a while..
The questions Sal asked me were enough to put me on the edge of getting nervous but, Abel's texts saved me in a way 🙂

Abel's POV.

I'm hella nervous about what's going on there.
I texted her and she read them but didn't reply yet..
I'm afraid Sal mustn't do anything stupid.
My phone goes off and I grab it quickly cause it must be her...

"It's fine i guess..just reached the second place to look for" why do I have the feeling that she's sounding dull? Did something happen? Did he do something?
It's fucking me up so bad!
Now I want her to come back home.
I'll take her to house hunting or I'll send her with Lamar..
"You sure you good? you don't sound like that.."
"If there's anything, just come home and we'll go house hunting later"
