Dunk became quieter after that incident. Even when he knew that he would be taken to Pattaya to be sold there, he just kept quiet and continued to stare at Joong sharply. Dunk really became quiet and obedient. Joong felt very happy because for the first time since Dunk arrived, he could go through his days in peace. He even extended the chain on Dunk's leg, so the guy could walk around the room now.
A few days before they left for Pattaya, Dunk spilled candles and oil in Joong's small room, causing the room to catch fire and burn all of Joong's books, until finally Joong's servants rushed to throw water there. But Joong just let it be.
Dunk looked at him with his big eyes as he asked why the fire happened. Those eyes looked innocent and innocent when the owner said that he was looking at a book and suddenly he tripped over the chain on his leg, making him lose his balance and fall. Joong narrowed his eyes listening to the explanation, Dunk's 'innocent' expression actually made him suspect that Dunk was lying to him. But Joong ultimately ignored it, because soon he would sell Dunk and leave his life forever.
--------
Pattaya is the most beautiful seaside city in Thailand. In this season, colorful flowers fill the streets and gardens of every house. The cool and clean air makes the city feel very peaceful. And the view of the vast white sand stretching out on the beach is so pleasing to the eye.
Joong immediately informed General Waar of his arrival as soon as they arrived there. While waiting for General Wayar's men to arrive, Joong unchained Dunk and let him roam around in his beachside inn. From there he could see the beauty of Pattaya beach, which would soon be his home. Dunk's face looked sad as he stared out the window, making Joong, who had been watching his movements, stunned. Dunk looked very lonely at that time. His face looked sad and empty as he looked into the distance. Joong felt like he wanted to hug him and wipe a face like that from Dunk, he wasn't used to seeing it. The Dunk he knew was a spoiled, grumpy nobleman, not a nobleman with such elegant melancholy.
Joong immediately shook his head to clear his wandering thoughts and walked closer to Dunk.
"What a beautiful place, right?" he asked quietly, making Dunk startled and turned to look at him, realizing that Joong had been watching him all along. Dunk's face turned red and he immediately averted his gaze from Joong, staring at the scenery outside again.
"It's beautiful," he said, his voice even. "But that doesn't mean I'll like it."
"Then you have to learn to like it, because in a few hours this place will be your home."
Dunk closed his eyes for a moment, making Joong even more fascinated by Dunk's noble movements which seemed so beautiful to him. "How about you?" he asked quietly.
"I?" Joong was surprised to hear Dunk's question. "Back to base, of course."
"Looking for more innocent humans to sell?" Dunk asked sarcastically, his eyes still staring at the view outside.
Joong didn't have time to answer Dunk's question, because his servant knocked on the door at that moment, bringing a message that General Wayar's men had arrived. Dunk immediately turned around without waiting for orders from Joong. He stood tall and graceful, head raised and chin tilted, making him look even more haughty and enchanting. His lips parted slightly, and Joong again admired Dunk's noble aura that he had seen more and more recently. He really was a handsome man.
Joong immediately ordered his four men to take Dunk out. Joong didn't worry this time, because Dunk seemed to be very obedient now. Even when General Wire checked Dunk without any ties, Joong tensed a little when he saw him, nothing happened. Joong sighed in relief and accepted the money with a satisfied smile.
Dunk seemed hesitant for a moment, but then he stepped slowly towards the buyer. Joong watched Dunk's back as he walked away without realizing it, and was surprised when Dunk turned to look at him too. Their eyes met, and for a few moments Joong seemed hypnotized by the look in Dunk's eyes. The look in those eyes seemed full of pleading and despair, but also full of determination and something that Joong couldn't understand, something that made the hairs on Joong's neck bristle. And at that moment Joong realized that Dunk had still not changed, he was still wild and not obedient. Joong clenched his fists, feeling that his decision to sell Dunk at that time was a big mistake.
And then Dunk turned his head forward again, breaking off all of Joong's thoughts about his slave.
-------------
Joong decided to return to his base after resting for a while in Pattaya. Joong had just laid down when he heard a loud knock on his bedroom door. He immediately stood up in shock. There was an angry scream besides the sound of knocking on the door. It seemed like someone was fighting outside. He hurriedly opened the door and saw his men fighting with unknown people.
He recognized that the two unknown people were General Wayar's men who had brought Dunk earlier. And what really made Joong's heart jump out of his chest was Dunk, with his hands tied behind his back, standing behind them. Joong realized that Dunk's lips and clothes were full of blood stains. There was a big bruise on his cheek, as if he had just been hit. Dunk looked straight at Joong, and even though his mouth was stuffed with a cloth, Joong swore he saw the guy grinning at him.
"What happened?" he shouted, joining the fray and trying to separate them. "Why are you fighting here?!"
"He!" one of General Wayar's men shouted, pointing at Dunk with his index finger.
"You sold corrupted slaves to our masters!"
"Broken? Your master checked it himself! I've given him all the records about the slave and-"
"The slave is crazy!" said another subordinate. "Do you know what he did? We took him to our master's room. At first he was quiet and compliant, but after we left him alone, he bit our master! His fingers almost broke off! The doctor said he wasn't sure he would be able to put them back together!"
Joong cursed in his heart, but he didn't show his anger at all. He even walked over to Dunk and lifted his face, examining the large bruise on his cheek. "What is this?"
"How do you think our master could escape his bite?"
"Or maybe your master didn't treat him well, so he bit him to protect himself."
"Are you just as crazy?! He's a slave, my master bought him. He can do whatever he wants!"
Joong lowered his hand from Dunk's chin and ruffled his own hair, feeling frustrated. General Wayar's men were not as stupid as he thought. "Okay. So now what should I do? Take out all his teeth?"
"Our master asks for the money back. He doesn't want to have a slave like him. And also, you have to pay compensation."
Joong opened his mouth to argue, but seeing the contented look in Dunk's eyes, he fell silent. All he wanted at that moment was to get everyone out of there immediately and teach Dunk a lesson. Joong remembers the look on Dunk's face when he was taken away, and realizes that his silence, his attitude, he thought, was all just pretend. He was completely deceived by that man.
“Okay,” he said, gritting his teeth and clenching his fists. "Okay, I will pay the compensation. Anyway, get out of here immediately."
Joong vows to teach Dunk a lesson he will never forget for the rest of his life.
