Colonial Eve Baird just got home from her mission in Berlin. Yesterday was quite the interesting day. She led her group of counterterrorists into a German steam tunnel to find a dangerous item. She chased a couple of terrorists who had a nuclear bomb and had just set it to go off. But then a mysterious librarian showed up falling out of a secret door in the tunnel looking for the opal of samara. A magical artifact that had been locked in an ancient magical safe surprisingly in that same tunnel.
That librarian was weird, but interesting. The moment he locked eyes with her, she was a goner. Her heart was pounding in her chest and her mind became mush. She felt like a teenager with a major crush, but felt something more. She just didn't know what.

"No, Sir. I don't need any time off." She said into her phone getting out of the taxi. "A month on LEAVE?!?What am I supposed to do for a month?!?" She asked opening her apartment door and walking inside. "My report? No. I didn't say he WAS a librarian. He CLAIMED..." She started to explain, but got cut off. "No, sir... Yes, Sir... I understand, Sir. Thank you." She said sighing and hung up.

Eve puts her bag down by the door and tosses her keys onto the counter. The apartment was practically empty. There was a single metal folding chair off to her left, a fridge straight ahead, and an unopened box off to her right. She walked over and opened the fridge, but all that was in it was a half bottle of water on the top shelf. She sighed again closing it and turned to lean on it crossing her arms.

A few seconds later, an envelope with her name slipped under the door. Curious, she walks over to pick it up. Flipping it over, she takes out a letter that glows golden and is actually an invitation to interview for a prestigious position at the Metropolitan Library. "The library?" She says aloud to herself when realization strikes her. "Librarian."

The blonde grabs her keys and bag and heads back out immediately hailing a taxi.

[At the library]

Flynn is sparring with excalibur when he sees them. He clears his throat and slightly indicates with his head to the magical sword. Excalibur flys over as if to slice off Eve's head, but stops more in a threat as she jumps back slightly putting her left hand up in a surrender position gasping. Charlene calls out. "Cal, no! She's here to help!"
Eve goes to slightly push him back, but Flynn calls out. "DON'T! Wounds caused by excalibur never heal. Magic." He said walking over and throwing his gloves on the desk as he goes. "Cal, go on patrol. I'll meet you there." Excalibur barks and flies off. Flynn looks at Eve. "What are you doing here? What is she DOING here?!?" He asks her then asks Charlene more angrily.

"Colonial, meet the librarian." Charlene introduced.

The colonial hands Flynn her invitation for him to check out as she looks in the direction excalibur flew off. "Yeah. We've met. That... that's excalibur. You call excalibur... Cal?"

"We're friends, best friends, besties really." He replied checking the letter out. "Why would you send her that?"

"I don't send out the invitations. The LIBRARY sends the invitations. The library chooses the staff." Charlene  said crossly at him. "I believe Colonial Baird has been chosen to be your new guardian." She then said interestingly.

He laughs at that handing the blonde her envelope back. "Guardian?" He mocks looking at the colonial. "I don't need a guardian." He says mocking more. Then he turns around yelling out to the building. "You hear that!?! I DON'T NEED HER!!" He yells pointing in her direction behind him. "I'M FINE!!" He then picks up his sword he had previously been sparring with and then turns to walk back over to Eve who was looking at him with interest. "I'm sorry. There must've been some kind of mistake. Go home. Don't come back." He told her then started to walk away when he turned and pointed the sword at her. "Don't come back." He said again and finally started walking away.
