I woke up in a very white room with wires attached to me.

I look towards the wooden door, confused.

"Check phone records, everything, okay?" Burke says to someone behind him as he walks in and smiles softly at me "hey honey, how you feeling?" He asks.

"Like I was dragged through a rose bush" I say and his eyes widen.

He smiles sadly "you remember anything?" He asks and i nod sadly.

"Casey...and Steve" I whisper and i hear the beeping quicken.

"Hey, hey, breathe okay?" He says "i need to-"

"Ask me what happened exactly?" He nods.

I knew he would have to.

"Can I have some water, my throat feels like sandpaper.." He pours me a cup from a clear pitcher and holds it to me, i take it gratefully.

I sip some before sighing.

"Casey called me, she sounded upset so I went to hers, the door was open so I walked in and found her curled up on the floor...she kept saying Steve was dead as she answered wrong" i frown but continue "I-I turned on the back light dad...he was gutted. I asked her what had happened but she wouldn't...couldn't say" i take a deep breath. "The phone rang, so I picked it up, maybe she had called someone else...it was a guy's voice but it didn't sound right, like it wasn't real or it was a recording or something... He asked for her and I said she wasn't there, she looked so scared dad" i feel tears fall down my face.

He holds my hands, rubbing his thumbs over them as someone else walks in, Deputy Dwight Riley, or Dewey as he was nicknamed, a sweet man with a heart of gold.

"She kept saying they killed her because she answered wrong, the phone rang and she got angry... She answered it and a chair came through the window as I was near it, she ran away and I followed her, i was cut up...i ran out front but couldn't find her, the killer...they grabbed me but I managed to get in my car...he drew the heart and left me in the car...i watched him stab her repeatedly with her parents in the house... They mutilated her. Who could do that?" I ask him suddenly.

It was worse than my parents' deaths.

This was so much worse...the mutilation.

"You get that?" Burke asks Dewey, who nods and pats my shoulder gently "you'll be okay, Honey. I will catch this guy" i nod at him slowly.

Why didn't he kill me too?

That was my main question, he could've smashed my window and killed me then and there.

But he didn't.

"Hello Hannah, I'm nurse Hillbury, I am sure you are wondering why you are here" dad stands up and walks out, i nod at her to continue. "You had 14 shards of glass taken from your body, mostly your legs but one had managed to hit your stomach..."

"So i have 14 more scars?" I ask her.

"Yes, i'm sor-" she starts.

"Thank you but I do not care about my skin, as long as none of my organs are damaged" she seems shocked for a moment.

"I see, are you in any pain?" I paused at her question before shaking my head.

I did not feel pain, only in my head.

From thinking...thinking hurts.

"When can I leave?" I ask her.

"I will get a doctor to come check you over, you may leave after they agree" i nod as she exits.
