Staring out of the window, my eyes fixated on the blinding lights of the city and the ocean from the car I was seated in.

'Is Sailor alright?'  Shaking the thought out of my head I looked to my left and saw the leftover cupcake wrappers and my good-to-go bag still wrapped safely by my side then glanced at the curly head next to me and made conversation that he barely replied to before sighing in defeat and sitting in silence for the rest of the ride.

'Boring'

——

"We're here," He said as the car halted to a stop.

'No way.'

'Woah.'

It's a total dump. Like a literal dump. 'I'm sure these men are trying to traffic me at this point' He brought me to a sketchy garbage disposal centre. Looking around in disbelief, I felt stupid. I followed this random man and look where I am now.

Almost sensing my confusion and thoughts he chuckled, "This isn't the actual place, it is just a front." I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding as I followed him into an alleyway near the dump. Then took a few turns and it led us to a derelict building with a clean modern elevator, the nice ones you would see in apartment buildings or hotels. Quite the contrast to the building interior.

He pressed on the 50th floor whilst the sound of my heels clicking on the ground echoed the lift as I turned to stand in front of him on the other side. This is going to be awkward.

The elevator zoomed up so quickly and I lost my balance, falling into the chest of the boss' nephew. 'Heels are a curse.' I rolled my eyes in annoyance.

"Sorry-" Before I could take a step back and get off him, he pulled me back. One arm wrapped around my waist and the other encased my wrist not letting me move I stared into his hazel-brown eyes and him into my green in silence as I began to feel uneasy trying to unlock the unreadable expression on his face. Two can play that game. I refuse to back down. But my eyes are burning from the lack of blinking.

*Ding*

"Floor 50." the elevator announced and he let go of me so quickly and walked out of the opening doors leaving me in disbelief, his touch still lingered. My eyes stung as I blinked rapidly in relief.

I didn't question what just happened and I'm not going to question anything else that happens. That's what he wants me to do.

Trailing behind, I follow and end up on the rooftop of the building surrounded by the derelict wasteland some people call home. In front of me is an unavoidable helicopter and looking down I see we're standing on a helipad.

"Get in or are you scared? Rosaline." He added emphasis on Rosaline holding eye contact with me as he strolled past into the helicopter. He's challenging me. Rolling my eyes at his request I did as I was told. 'Who does he think he is...' it's not like I haven't been in a helicopter before it just isn't a daily thing. Sliding open the door, I sat down and closed it. Feeling cushioning under me I sank in not minding if it swallowed me whole. 'So comfortable'

I wasn't the only one in the back seat. I'm sitting next to the curly-head.

"Why are you sitting here?" I asked in confusion.

"It's my family's helicopter, why wouldn't I?" He scoffed in amusement.

"Yeah I could tell, I meant I thought you were going to fly the helicopter? Since it's just me and you."

Then I heard a low cough from the front of the helicopter locking eyes with the young pilot before he turned back in front and started to switch things on.
