Chapter 4/ Yelena Heartjoy

We all looked at my father.

,,A what?" I asked

,,A funfair" my father took the breath and began explaining. ,,I know that it's not really our thing and we never had those, while other kingdoms yes but...I think it is time for a change. Plus...I knew you wanted to get out of the castle for a quite some time. And so when I've got the letter from a one really talented young man, I did not hesitate with my answer"

,,Well...that's really generous of you father. Thank you" I wouldn't think, that he's able to do something like this for me. Maybe I really was mistaken in him actually.

,,Well those are some really good news honey", said my mother. ,,I'm sure, that also Damen is so happy, that he can spend some time with his sister. Am I right Damen?"

Damen, who was until now eating and not really minding our conversation looked up from his plate, almost suffocating over the food.

He coughed and cleared his throat. ,,Of course mother, I'm looking forward to spend some time with my sister."

He looked at me with, that cocky grin of his and I just found myself wishing, that I could slap that shit eating grin out of his face. But I contained myself and played his game.

,,Of course Damen. I would get offended if you'd say no. After all...you're my older brother and you gotta take care of me...for. the. whole. time" I finished the sentence while putting the extra sound on the last 4 words, which did actually take off that grin of his face and I smiled too much proudly about it.

The look that he was giving me wasn't that much nice anymore. I wonder if my father looked like this when he was younger and he was getting ready to kill his first victim.

I smiled about my joke for myself and then I composed myself again.

,,Well isn't that just nice? I'm happy that you two will be able to get finally along with each other" said my father and stood up.

Then he bowed to all of us. ,,Well I better get going. Thank you all for those wonderful breakfast. The funfair should begin a week from now. I hope I'll see only happiness in your eyes Yelena."

,,Of course father. Thank you again"

And with that he left, leaving the three of us in silence while finishing our breakfast.

A week later

Sylvana pov

It was a week since my meeting with the Mr. Unknown next to the lake and yet I couldn't stop thinking about him.

How could he know my name? And what did he really want from that meeting? He came looking for help, which later he didn't get. And it did not seem like it bothered him. He was actually excited about our next meeting.

,,Honey will you stop by granny and look how she's doing? Last time I was there, she expected you to come and I had to tell her that you're not feeling well" said my mom

Yes, it's the truth. After my meeting at the lake, I did not feel well. It's not like I was sick or something, but I just wanted to think about everything.

,,Sure mom, I'll go there right away" I put down the book, that I was reading and stood up.

I took my jacket and was getting ready to leave, when my mom called out to me.

,,Ey Sylvana?"

I turned to my mom.

,,Yes?"

,,Did something happen last week at the lake? You didn't behave as usual from that day" she said, looking at me with worry in her eyes.

For a while, I wanted to tell her everything. I really did. It's just, that I did not want to trouble her.

,,Everything is okay mom. Nothing happened"

She took one of my hands into hers. ,,You would tell me if something happened right?"

,,Of course mom"

I slowly untangled my hand from hers. ,,I gotta go. I'll see you later. Bye"

I opened the door and closed them on my mom saying something. But because I was already out of the door, I didn't hear a thing"

Sylvana's mom pov

As Sylvana ran out of the door, I spoke to myself in a quiet voice. Knowing that she won't hear it anymore anyway.

,,Oh Darius...I think the time has come"
