INCOGNITO | KAIJU NO.8 FF

Fuyuka, now 20 years of age, rode down the street on her skateboard, cigarette in hand, and dual-coloured hair, flying behind her.

The sun shone bright, with pearly white clouds surveying the sky.  The sound of people talking, cars passing by and her wheels as they rolled against the tar of the street, falling away as her eyes landed on the building before her. The Defense Force, Tachikawa Base. The first step in achieving her goal. Becoming an officer in the defense force.

Unbeknownst to her, the sound of her skateboard had attracted the attention of other recruits. Dressed in black biker shorts, black sneakers, and a white and black jacket that covered her black compression shirt, along with white headphones on, she was a sight to see. Seeing as female recruits were often scarce.

Upon entering the building, she was led to the first part of the second-section of the examination in order to be recruited. This part consisted of a selection of various fitness tests.

'Hmm, I expected something a bit more challenging ' , she thought to herself. As she breezed through all the exercises given, from sprinting to rope climbing to balance. These having been things she did on a daily basis in order to warm up for her training.

Having finished the test, she had been ranked in 4th place. Not so bad if you asked her.

Tired from the exercise,she sat down on the grass, leaning against the fence, water bottle in hand and due to her position she happened to overhear one of the other recruits speaking about the people they were with.

However, whilst this happened, the vice-captain of the third division, Soshiro Hoshina, approached the infamous Captain,  Mina Ashiro, with a list of the examinees.

"Interesting batch we have lined up this year..."he said, handing over the list.
"Then again, I doubt you're interested in anything other than killing kaiju.." he proclaimed, with a grin upon his foxy face.

"....keep talking, I'll work and listen," she said , having glimpsed at the list.

'Well, this is rare,' Hoshina thought.

Back with the examinees, Fuyuka heard the boy talk about how the majority of the examinees this year are from neutralization colleges or universities. Thus, they are much more prepared than everyone else. She took greater care in listening. However, once he mentioned the name, Kikoru Shinomiya.  Having heard the name Shinomiya before, it being the surname of the Commander Isao Shinomiya and of the late Hikari Shinomiya.

Knowing that their daughter was here within the same group as her brought about a sense of humbleness. Knowing that the power she holds surpasses all of theirs. However, she wasn't discouraged. No, in fact, this motivated her to push even harder to surpass her.

Moments later, after their short break, they were escorted to the defense force training area in order to complete the second part of their exam.

"I'm head of the screening exam's committee, Vice-Captain Hoshina," he said,  opening the gates for the training area.

"For the second part of this exam , you'll be focusing on the neutralization of kaiju.." he stated, allowing us to see the kaiju standing around inside the training area.
