Adrien's POV

Ever since I can remember we have always had magic. Even before we knew that what we were doing was magic. It is natural to us, like how birds know to fly south for the winter, or how a baby sea turtle knows to go toward the ocean after hatching.

Me and my sister, Aurelie, are alike and different in many ways. For example, I've always liked to make friends with everyone I met, while she's always been kind of anti-social. It's not that she is awkward or overly nervous but, instead, that she sees people as a nuisance. It takes a lot to get her to like someone and she isn't the easiest person to talk to sometimes. However, we aren't without shared interests, of course. We both enjoy reading and art and we love to learn. As long as there is a chance to learn something new, we are intrigued.

We love our magical studies almost as much as we love our books. I prefer to be well-versed in everything from enchantments to sound magic. My sister, on the other hand, enjoys more intense magic, the kind of magic that is strong, powerful, and even dangerous. While, I don't approve of the dark magic, rune stones, and blood that sometimes gets involved in her so-called "pursuit of knowledge", I trust that if something is too much for her, our parents can keep her away or pull her out of it.

We lived happily in Marseille for most of our childhood. Learning the rules of our society and our abilities. Like if a kid is annoying you by talking too much, you don't magically stitch their mouth shut. Or say someone spills something, you try to clean it up instead of reversing time on the object to "undo" the spill. These lessons were unique to our parents but they were always taught with kindness and understanding.

Thankfully for us, our mom is pretty good at memory magic and we never had to face any legal punishment or deal with the world learning of our family's rather odd skillset. Of course that doesn't mean that some random kids were running around with their mouths stitched shut and tears streaming from their eyes, because that would be disastrous. After being told not to do something we had to either undo it and apologize or make up for it.

As we learned how to act in public we began to realize that we were unique in our abilities. Once this realization came about, our parents explained to us why it is of utter importance to keep our abilities secret and why we had to try our hardest to appear average. Despite being pretty young, we understood the gravity of the situation and took it seriously. Since then, we have only practiced our magic alone or in the presence of a trusted family member.

Marinette's POV

I still remember the day I was given my miraculous, four years ago. I was twelve back then. It had been five days since Lady Fortuna and Forte Tempête resigned and I had only just finished summer break.

'We're lucky there have been no akuma attacks since they resigned' Marrinette thought to herself as she gently folded her clean clothes and carried them up to her bedroom.

Just then a loud crash followed by screaming was heard a few blocks away.

'Shoot, I jinxed it. Just my luck' She thought to herself as she ran as fast as she could  down into the cellar.

She as reached up to flick the lights on, something caught her eye.

She turned on the light to better make out what she was looking at, and was surprised to find a small, black box in the shape of a hexagonal prism.

It had a strange red  insignia on the lid that resembled an odd maze of sorts.

"Huh? What's this doing here?" She asks aloud as she proceeds to pick up the box and open it.

A bright light burst from the box and gently drifted up to Marinette's eye level.

As the light fades and Marinette's eyes readjust, she sees a small red creature floating in front of her. "Ahh! Help! It's a giant bug! A... a mouse! A... a bug-mouse!"

"Everything's okay! Don't be scared!" The tiny creature tries reassure her.

"Ahh! Bug mouse talks!" She exclaimed as she proceeded to throw things at

Marinette continues to throw things at the strange bug-mouse until she finds a glass

"Listen, Marinette." The creature speaks up "I know everything may seem a bit strange to you..." At that Marinette traps it in the glass cup, in an attempt to contain the little thing. "Okay, if that makes you feel safer..."

"What are you, and how do you know my name?" Marinette asked, confusion written clearly all over her face.

"I am a kwami, and my name is Tikki. Now just let me explain." Came Tikki's muffled reply

"Mom! Dad!" Marinette shouted at the trap doors lead up into the bakery

"No, no, no! Shh! No!" The now panicked kwami said as she flew through the glass towards Marinette."I'm your friend, Marinette! You must trust me. You're the only one who can stop the akuma!"

"Does  this mean I am kinda like the new Lady Fortuna?"

The kwami looked down at the mention of her previous holder. "Not exactly your costume will be different and you'll have to come up with your own hero name."

"This must be some mistake! The only superpower I could possibly have is super-awkwardness... I know! Alya would know! That's my friend. She loves superheroes! She'd totally be up for the job! You should go see her instead!"

"Marinette, I chose you for a reason, if I thought Alya or anyone else in this city was a better fit then I would have gone to them. Trust me, I am here for a reason"

With those words of encouragement I was able to defeat the akuma and meet my new partner, Chat Noir. After two years of working together he asked me reveal my identity, I was 14 at the time. I declined, reasoning that, while, yes, some miraculous holders reveal their identities to each other and the press, we were still young and couldn't handle that kind of attention. It was better to keep it secret, even from each other in case we were to slip up and reveal ourselves or our partner to the wrong person. At first he was upset but he came around.

Okay! It took me forever but I finally made the first chapter! I have a bit of a plan but I don't know if this is something people will like so please comment ALL of your thoughts on this and tell me what you think. I'd love to hear from you! BTW I did not run this by my beta. (also it was like two AM when I posted this so...) Please, don't hesitate to point out any wrong doings on my part.
