Hayden POV
I sighed as I walked into the grill, sitting at a booth, with my books in my hand I lay them out on the table,
You hear Matt walk to your table,
"Hey Hayden, what will you have?" He asked with a smile,
Matt was always one of those guys that helped you out no matter what it was about.
"Just a coffee." I say
He chuckled, nodding leaving you to look down and start your math homework, You would rather do your homework somewhere in public,
Where your parents wouldn't be hovering over you making you question everything, making you feel so tense,
You were looking down at your text book almost chewing on the eraser of your pensile you hear footsteps at first you thought it was Matt, when you look up you see a man, with sandy hair, and blue eyes, he was handsome, I know who he is, Damon talks about him all the time,
Yes, I know the Salvatore brothers, I know they are vampires in fact I found out about it around the same time Elena did, and sure she was freaked out, But I ensured her would it really matter if Stefan was human or not, she still was in love with him,
Rick always says I'm to understand and nice for my own good,
Damon says I'm naive,
But I stare at this man, I know exactly who this is, Klaus,
"Hello love, your a new face." He says with a smirk,
Matt gives me my coffee, with a worried look,
"Thank you Matty," I say
He nods and leaves,
"Actually I'm not new I just don't stand out too much," I smile at him
I point my pencil at him,
"But I know you." I say
He arches his brow,
I motion for him to sit across from me in the booth,
"Please sit." I say
"Thank you love." He says
He sits down,
"I find it interesting that you invite me to sit with you when you know who I am? And I have no idea who you are." He says,
I take a sip of my coffee,
"I'm Hayden. Hayden Chase, I live in more of the wooded area of Mystic Falls, I don't really come out here too much." I say with a smile on my face,
"And yet you are here talking to me instead of fearing me," He says he seemed a bit suspicious that I was talking to him,
"Well that's a bit terrible on my part for judging you before I know you, don't you think?" I asked with a smile
I take a sip of my coffee,
He looked a bit taken back,
I close my book to Math as I put my elbows on the table as I bridge my hands under my chin,
"So why don't you tell me your story, It must be really fascinating living over a thousand years." I say with a big smile on my face,
Truthfully I give everyone the benefit of the doubt, everyone deserves it,
I have an incurable and deadly sickness, I take trial medication that isn't a known fact that would help me,
I have too much blood in my heart, no known medication can help no operation can help because it will just accumulate again,
It causes nausea, dizziness, nose bleeds, fainting spells, vomiting blood,
But if I die tomorrow I know I would be at peace being able to escape my family,
I am broke out of my thoughts as Klaus speaks,
"Hmm, it certainly is, how everything has changed over the centuries," He says with a big smirk,
"Such as?" I ask,
"Art, Music, history." He says
"Hmm." I say very interested,
He looked at me like I was a puzzle he couldn't figure out,
I smile,
"Caroline says you like art," I say
"Does she now." He says with a chuckle,
I nod,
"What kind, I like to paint." I say
He arches his brow,
"I do as well." He says
My phone bings,
I look down seeing my parents wanted me home,
I sighed,
"Well I look forward to see some of your work." I say with a smile as I stand up leaving a tip for Matt
I gather my things about to leave,
"Maybe next time you can invite your siblings to chat," I nod my head towards the table,
"Tell Rebekah I'll see her in class." I say winking at Klaus,
I leave the grill,
Little did I know that small conversation would lead to a close friendship with the big bad Hybrid, and his family,
I wasn't loved, my parents saw me as a tool, I had to be the perfect child for their image, so I was used to playing the part, this is why I always wanted to know everyone's story, what their lives are like compared to mine,
I was walking down the main side walk, when a small breeze made me stop I looked up at the sky, My green eyes looking up at the beautiful sky, watching as the birds flew,
If only I could be that free.
