Chp. 6: Entrance exam (2)

THIS CHAPTER TAKES PLACE PRIMARILY DURING THE UA ENTRANCE EXAM

[Name] swiftly ducked into an alleyway of the fake city, mentally adding up her points. "that- that should be around 55 points" she muttered between breaths, leaning against a wall to stabilize herself. 

"that's good, right? Well, not if I wanna beat Katsu.." she breathed, massaging her cramping hand. as she was recuperating, a 2P appeared at the end of the alley, spotting her. She let out a groan, sending it flying backwards into a wall. "Make that 57" she sighed, standing back up and stretching her back out.

Before she could even move, she was knocked over by the intense rumbling of the ground that had followed the-- quite literally-- earth-shaking sound of a building being destroyed. She blinked back into a standing position, then up to the top of the closest building to see what had happened.

[Name] gasped at the sheer size of the 0P, shrouded in a cloud of dust, the result of it's destruction. It would be a terrifying sight to see, if that didn't leave the option to go fight it and maybe get some bonus points for helping people out. 

She jumped from the roof, sprinting towards the main area of the battleground once she landed. Upon reaching the fleeing crowds, she got to work helping them escape the flying rubble however she could. 

whether it was blinking in front of the 0P to distract it, using her telekinesis to destroy debris, or ushering kids away, she was taking every opportunity to showcase her skills in the short timeframe she gets.

After the ghost had returned another person with an injured leg to the safest place she could find, [Name] decided to face the robot head-on, so maybe the exam would end faster. 

Seems someone already beat her to it, though. The moment she had the thing in her line of sight, she was also greeted with the dread of seeing her usually quirkless friend flying directly towards it.

'Izuku?!" she gasped, watching with her mouth agape as the bot went flying back upon making contact with his fist.

what the actual fuck.

did he actually have a quirk this entire time? 

was he just lying to us?

no, he wouldn't do that, right?

he's falling.

[Name] brushed off the questions racing through her mind when she comprehended the situation. "IZUKU-!" she cried again, scrambling towards him without thinking.

She froze upon seeing a hand hit his face, causing him to start floating?? The ghost ran the little distance she had left to run, and upon hearing a weak "release" coming from a familiar voice, she caught him as he fell once again. 

Izuku passed out in a matter of seconds, leaving [Name] practically hyperventilating as she tried to get her heart to settle down. 

he could've died.

A blaring alarm sounded, and an old woman leisurely began walking over to where the ghost was currently having a panic attack.

"Very nice, good work all around. you're heroes in my eyes, every one of you!" the woman smiled, now looking over Izuku's injuries. "oh, dear. you were hurt this badly by your own quirk, sonny? give me some sugar" she said calmly, kissing his head. His broken limbs glowed green for a moment, before healing entirely.

"Alright, you'll be fine now. How about you, dearie? Do you need healing?"

"oh- uh, no ma'am. Thank you" [Name] cleared her throat, standing up straight and trying to steady herself.

"hm. very well then. Anyone else injured?" The woman asked, looking around at the rest of the examinees.

the ghost looked around as well, spotting the girl who had saved Izuku, now also unconscious.

"Uraraka..." she muttered, smiling softly.

what a lifesaver. literally. 

And cute, too. I hope she gets into UA.

[Name] sighed, shifting Izuku around in her arms. "well. That went well." she mumbled sarcastically.

"Hey, there she is! How'd things go, baby?" Kari beamed as her wife and daughter entered the house. 

[Name] grumbled something inaudible, flopping onto the couch and lying there face-first.

Maiyuna sighed, putting her purse down on the table near the door. "She said she did good, but I think the exhaustions finally catching up to her." She answered. 

"mhm.. Katsuki got sent to a different battlefield than me and Izu for the practical, and I'm sure he did good- oh, and Izuku apparently has a quirk now and he almost died" the girl hummed, her voice muffled through the couch cushions.

"he has a quirk? Well good for him. He better have not been lying to you about it though." Kari stated, sitting down onto the other couch and grabbing the TV remote. 

"Kar, I don't think that's the main thing we should be concerned about here. He nearly died?!" Maiyuna asked, eyes wide.

"yeah it was really scary. his new quirk broke like all of his bones as he used it, and the only reason he survived is because a nice girl made him float." [Name] sat up, leaning against the back cushions. 

"oh dear, I hope he's alright. But, if my memory serves me, they use a point system, right? What did you get?" the MILF asked, also sitting down next to her tired daughter.

"Something like 60. I tried to go to more deserted areas to get the hunks of metal by themselves so I could really let loose."

"good on ya, kiddo. I'm proud of you, and I can't wait to read your acceptance letter when it gets here!" Kari cheered, flipping on the TV  and scrolling through channels. 

"yeah, me either." The ghost yawned, leaning her head against her mother's shoulder as the conversation died down.

A/N: yes I also know this was incredibly short but the entrance exam was not meant to have two parts anyways sooo
