Her desire to fit in with her friends continued to nag at her. She went through the motions of attending class, but she was bothered, consumed by thoughts of her appearance and how it compared to her peers. She found herself zoning out during the lecture, her attention fixated on the perceived flaws in her reflection.
After class, she met up with her friends Stella and Ella, and they chatted about the party she had missed. Anna couldn't help but feel like an outsider, her insecurities threatening to overwhelm her.
You really missed a lot. Ella said
Wait,why didn't you show up ?Stella asked
I couldn't come because of my........her tone was a bit defensive , knowing her friends would tease her.I was preoccupied she added sharply.Ok but would you make it this weekend?Ella asked
Sure I will.She replied sharply
There would be tons of guys ,you don't wanna miss it right?Ella added
Yeah ,sure,I won't .Stella and Ella were Anna's friend,but they were totally different from her .They lived on their own terms without parental guidance ,and partying was their norms.They had a string of boyfriends,which made them boast about everything.Ella and Stella also looks much more older than their age.
All these made Anna even more envious of them.
