Years passed. Each of the academy students was now 12 years old. Kakashi became a genin at the age of 5, while Aiko achieved it at 6. This fact annoyed her greatly because she wanted to prove herself to him. Instead, she embarrassed herself. He always said she wasn't very good, wasn't very strong. So when he became a genin and was the first to leave the academy, it angered her, prompting her to train even harder. She spent countless hours honing her skills, determined to surpass him and prove her worth.

When Aiko found out Kakashi was to be on her team, she wasn't very happy. Kakashi Hatake was the best of the best—the greatest prodigy the world had seen in centuries. His father had been the White Fang of Konoha, and Kakashi was determined to surpass him. Aiko didn't want to be stuck on a team with him; she wanted to show him she could beat him. She wanted to prove her strength to him so he wouldn't always treat her as an inferior. She knew it wasn't fair of her to feel that way, but it was how she felt. She also wanted to prove that she could surpass both of her parents. Her mother, Tsunade Senju, was one of the Sannin—a legendary ninja of great renown. Her father, Jiraiya, was another Sannin, a master of all things ninja, and a genius of a level she couldn't even comprehend.

The day finally arrived when Aiko was supposed to meet at the training ground, where she would meet her sensei along with her group mates. She felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. Her parents, who had always been there for her, teaching and guiding her, were not present this time. She had to face this new challenge on her own. Aiko arrived at the training ground, her heart pounding with anticipation.

The teacher was already waiting. Aiko's face lit up with excitement as she recognized him immediately.― Minato-san!― she exclaimed. He was a student of Jiraiya, so she knew him well.

Minato Namikaze, known as the Yellow Flash of Konoha, stood there with a kind smile. Aiko had always admired him. Her father, Jiraiya, often spoke highly of his talented student. Minato had a reputation for being not only incredibly skilled but also compassionate and wise beyond his years. Aiko felt a surge of confidence knowing that he would be their sensei.

―Hello, Aiko,― Minato greeted warmly.― I'm glad to see you're enthusiastic.

After a moment, Rin and Kakashi arrived at the training field. The white-haired girl looked at the boy. His gaze was... empty.

Aiko felt a slight unease. Kakashi always seemed cool and distant, but now his eyes were completely devoid of expression, as if something had extinguished within him. Rin, always warm-hearted, smiled at Aiko, trying to ease the tension.

―Hi, Aiko - chan!― Rin said with a smile.

―Hello, Rin!

Aiko nodded, though her thoughts were on Kakashi. She wondered what could have happened to make him so different now. She remembered how many times she had tried to compete with him, how much she wanted to match him, and now his expression made her feel uneasy.
