You're Eyes are Really Pretty

(Right after The Queen of Hearts takes Cinderella)

(Btw this whole fanfic is Chloe's pov unless I decide to change it for a paragraph or something.)

"This is a time machine." Red said, Chloe looked at it and back at her. "You're joking." Chloe looks at her and Red rolls her eyes. "Does it look like I'm joking?" Red notices Chloe look back at where she last saw her mom. Then Chloe said, "Does this mean we can save our moms?" Red just smiled and started turning the clocks time backwards. They both get sucked into the past and look around. "Where are we?" Chloe asks, Red just walks over to a sign and says. "Not where, when." Chloe look in Red's direction and sees it, a sign says 'Merlin Academy.' Thats the school her mom went to when she was young. Chloe starts to tense up as everything started to hit her, they were in the past. Everything they did would be marked as history. It was an odd thing to comprehend. Although she looked at Red and she seemed relaxed, then Red walked into the school. "Red, wait!" Chloe ran after her and they both went in. As soon as they did a guy warmly said, "Are you here to join the school this year, you must be transfers. Let me show you to your dorms." Chloe and Red both looked at each other and followed the guy, he pointed to their room and walked off. Chloe walked in and looked around, she definitely been to nicer places but the room was still descent. A bit fancy too. Then she heard Red sigh, "We have to go to school now? I came to change the past not learn about old math."

Chloe and Red decided to stay in the dorm for a day. They needed to find out how find their moms and find out how to stop what happens in the future. The one hard thing though was having to work with Red. Red was rude, didn't listen, and most of all her mother is the on that took her mother. She knows that Red had nothing to do with it and was even against it but she couldn't help but feel uncomfortable sharing a room with the blood of The Queen of Hearts. It seemed that Red claimed the top bunk so Chloe just settled on the bottom bunk. She obviously didn't bring much since there seemed to be no time. She only had a sword and the clothes she was wearing. She took off her jacket and hung it on a wooden chair a few feet away from the bed.

She wondered what Red was so busy doing, she peeked up and saw Red listening to music. "What are you doing?" Chloe asks, Red jumps up and takes her head phones off. Red angrily turns to face Chloe. "What does it look like?" Red rolls her eyes at the sudden pause. Then Chloe climbs up and says, "It looks like you stole something that doesn't belong to you." Chloe flinches as she gets Red's death glare. Chloe backs off and huffs, maybe if she just tries to have a talk about whats happening or any clues to tell her where their parents are Red would be less unfriendly. "Did your mom ever say anything about what she did back in the day, you know, maybe something that will help us find your mom?" Chloe suggests, Red sighs and looks down at Chloe. "Look, I get that we have to work together to save the world or whatever but that doesn't mean we have to be friends." Red gets down from the bed and leaves the room saying she going to the restroom. Chloe sighs and sit on her bed, she took a picture from her jacket pocket of her parents and starts crying. Will she ever see them again? Would she ever see her mom again? They are the only ones she cares about and the only ones that care about her. She didn't have many friends growing up, and the ones she were friends with either used her or bullied her. Thats why she had a strong and polite front to other people. Suddenly Red walked back in and noticed that Chloe was crying. Somehow Red felt a little sympathy for the girl. Chloe actually had loving parents that probably showered her with love. Who wouldn't miss a family like that. Red walked over to Chloe and sat down beside her. They sat there in silence until Chloe spoke up, "I don't know what to do. What if we make everything worse?" Another tear dripped down Chloe's eye. Red looks at the Chloe and says, "How much worse can it get? We just need to stop my mom from taking over the world. And maybe I won't have to blame myself for what happened anymore." Red said the last part in a hushed voice. Chloe looked at Red in concern. Maybe Red's not that bad after all. She put her hand on Red's, Red flinched but before Chloe could pull away she reciprocated. Red couldn't hide her smile, it got really awkward suddenly. Is this what friends did? No, Red and her weren't all the way there yet. So why did Chloe feel weird?

It had been a day where they did nothing, today they were going to look around and try to find their parents. They decided that they should look around the school first. Since both of their moms went there. Chloe didn't know how to act around Red so she just decided to act like she did before. They looked in each class with no luck, but finally Chloe went into another class and saw her mother! "Mom?" Chloe said in bewilderment, the girl just looked at her confused. Then Chloe realized that in the past her mom hadn't had her yet. Her mother was just a child right now. She caught Red's gaze and beckoned her over. "Hello I'm Chloe, this is my fr- this is Red." Chloe didn't want to call them friends yet. "Hello, I'm Ella. Are you guys new? I haven't seen you around here." Ella asked, Red and Chloe just nodded. Ella went back to her project. Now they knew that Chloe's mom was here they just had to find Red's. "Hey uh, Ella. Do you know where Bridget is?" Red asked, Ella nodded and pointed to the direction of the back of the room. Chloe looked and saw a girl with pink hair. "That pink haired girl?" Chloe was surprised when Ella nodded again. That did not look like The Queen of Hearts. Red looked just as confused. They walked over to Bridget. Bridget looked up and smiled at them, Red looked at the younger version of her mother, "Hey, Bridget, right?" Bridget nodded, she looked so much different from who she was in the future. "Thats me, Bridget, do you want a hug?" Bridget asked about to envelope her future daughter. Red just backed away and said no. Suddenly the bell rang and everyone was dismissed and sent to lunch. Red and Chloe followed everyone to the cafeteria.

"I can't believe my mom was so nice!" Red said a little too loudly, Red's face went red when everyone looked at her and went back to eating. Chloe laughed and Red glared at her. Chloe stopped laughing, instead she just smiled. Red looked at her and tried to hide her smile, which was easy for Chloe to see. Then Chloe noticed that two girls were walking towards them. It was their moms! They sat down and Red moved beside of Chloe. "Hey guys! We saw you two sitting alone so we came over if thats okay. We weren't interrupting anything, right?" Bridget said gleefully, Chloe and Red looked at each other and back. Chloe's face went red and Red said, "No, you're not interrupting anything." The sight of Chloe's mom and Red's mom talking and laughing together. They used to be friends! Best friends! Red looked equally surprised, Chloe didn't have anything to say so she just looked at her lap. Noticing that her hands were clenched and white. Red seemed to notice this so she grabbed Chloes hand. Chloe smiled and slightly squeezed her hand. Bridget and Ella looked at them knowingly and Ella spoke up. "You guys seem really close." Bridget and Ella giggled when they saw their faces turn bright red. Chloe rubbed the back of Red's hand with her thumb. "Yeah, I guess we are." Chloe said quietly, Red looked startled by the slightest but squeezed Chloe's hand. Almost as if to say that she wasn't wrong. The bell rang again and they went back to classes, Red and Chloe went back to their dorm. 

They tried to let everything sink in, their moms were friends, Bridget was nice, so they had to stop her from turning evil. But another thing was that Chloe and Red were friends now, which was really good. Although now Chloe's stomach felt like someone tied it up in a knot. And above all of that Red was still holding Chloe's hand. Chloe looked at their hands and made the bold decision to intertwine them, Red's face, ironically, went red. Chloe smiled and scooted closer to her, not too close though. They looked at each other and didn't break eye contact for a while. Chloe truly said, "You're eyes are really pretty." Chloe broke eye contact and scooted closer to red so that their shoulders were touching. Red's eyes were starting to water. Chloe backed off and disconnected their hand, she really quickly said, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have invaded your space. I just thou-" Red shook her head and scooted closer to Chloe, intertwining their hands again. "Sorry, I'm not used to having this kind of friendship with someone. I'm just, happy. It's been a while since I've felt that emotion" Red said apologetically, Chloe smiled a really big smile and rested her head on Red's shoulder. Red's shoulders stopped tensing and relaxed against Chloe. Chloe wondered why her stomach was doing somersaults, wait, did she?... Did she like Red?!
