A couple of years later, in August 2022, at JYP Entertainment in South Korea....
JYP: Annyeonghaseyo, everybody. Thank you. for joining me in this room.
Everybody applauds.
JYP: As you already know, both JYP Entertainment/JYP USA and Republic Records will find our global girl group.
Staff: And how are we going to do that, Jinyoung-ssi?
JYP: We will hold an audition and turn it into a competition show!
Laura remembers watching those time of shows back in Wisconsin, giving her flashbacks of her and you watching some.
JYP: Haeun-ssi?
Laura: Ne, PDnim?
JYP: Since you speak and understand Korean and English, I would like you to come with me to the auditions when we fly to America. You'll help out with the production team.
She bows.
Laura: Ne.
JYP: We have a month left, so let's start preparing!
Team JYPE: Ne!
Laura exits the room, pulling out her phone.
I forgot to mention that she had to change her number since she's been living in Korea for a while, but she might have forgotten to text you and call you.

You finished watching the 'A2K (America2Korea) Official Announcement' video on YouTube, feeling the excitement and nervousness inside you.
You: (I should audition! I might have a chance to visit Laura!)
You run downstairs with your laptop on your hands.
You: Mom!
Mom: Yes, dear?
You: Can I audition?!
Mom: For?
You: It's an audition to become a K-pop idol!
Mom: Didn't Laura mention she was from Korea when her family first moved here?
You: Which is why I asked; I might be able to visit her!
Mom: Go for it, but let me help you apply.

Next month, at the airport in Atlanta...
JYP, Laura, and the production team head into an airplane.
JYP: So, Laura, do you know anyone in the States?
Laura: The only person I know is my childhood best friend. It's been a while since I last saw her.
JYP: You never talk to her?
Laura: I did as soon as I landed in Korea, but after I changed my number, I lost contact.
JYP: I'm sorry.
Laura: It's okay. It was bound to happen.
She looks out the window.
Laura: So, where are we heading off to?
JYP: We are going to Chicago.
Laura: Oh, that's near my hometown, Wisconsin.
JYP: Do you have any plans to go home when I give you a vacation, Haeun-ssi?
Laura: Yes, but I'll wait until I finish my tasks in JYPE.
Pilot: Welcome, JYP Team. I'll be your captain. It will be a 2-hour flight to Chicago, so please buckle up. Thank you.

Two hours later...
You were sitting in the waiting room, waiting for your name to be called.
You: I'm so nervous, Mom! What if they call me?
Mom: You'll be fine, Lexi.
You look around to see some of the camera crew recording the contestants, but a familiar figure catches your eyes.
You: Wait... is that...?
You were about to stand up and walk towards them, but you didn't notice them walking towards you, causing them to bump into you.
Laura: Sorry!
You froze as you turned around, watching them enter through the door.
You: Laura?
Laura greets the camera crew.
Laura: All ready, everybody ready?
Production Team: Yes!
Laura turns on her earpiece.
Laura: Let J.Y. Park know we're ready.
Staff #3: Alright.
Laura sits off-set with the other Korean employees.
JYP: Alright, Chicago. By the way, today I feel so ready because I ate deep-dish pizza. Today's going to be a great day. I feel it.
He takes a seat.
JYP: Okay, here we go, Chicago.
They all applaud.
You were waiting outside of the door after a staff called out your name.
You: "It's been said and done
Every beautiful thought's been already sung..."
Of course, you were feeling anxious, and then you started practicing the dance you were going to do.
You: (What if I don't make it? What if I don't meet Laura?)
You take a deep breath.
You: (You got it, Lexus. Don't overthink it.)
JYP: Okay, finalist in Chicago. Please call her in.
That's when Laura starts slowing down as the contestant enters the room, causing her eyes to go wide as she sees the nametag.
Laura: Oh. My. God.
Staff: Haeun-ssi, is something wrong?
Laura: That contestant. She's my childhood best friend!
