Chapter One {Is Luck on my Side?}

Starlight's POV

Today I plan to spend time with Trixie. Since Twilight's School is closed for the holiday. Majority of the time I end up being extremely busy as head mare. I'm often also busy dealing with friendship problems. I feel bad whenever I can't seem to find the time to spend with Trixie and Sunburst. Mainly Trixie, although Sunburst is a cherished childhood friend, there's just a connection I seem to have with Trixie. I can't quite put my hoof on it. Whenever I do spend time with her, I often find myself wanting time to extend itself. When she's beaming cheerily I find myself smiling as if her happiness is contagious. 

Whatever it may be I am grateful to have such a wonderful gal pal. I trot over to where I think Trixie's caravan might be but unfortunately neither her or the caravan or nowhere to be found. She must've moved to a new spot in Ponyville. Pinkie randomly appears. She cheerfully asks "Hey Starlight! Whatcha doing?" I reply "Oh, hey Pinkie. I'm just looking for Trixie." Pinkie cheerily replies "I'm pretty sure I saw her with Sunburst. They looked like they were having fun!" I was grateful for this wild, unpredictable mare because her shenanigans often come handy. I asked "Did you see where they headed or if they had plans to go somewhere?"

Pinkie was bouncing on the tip of her tail, while talking with me. Pinkie then quickly responded "Well now that you mentioned it, I kinda bumped into them by accident. And offered them my lemon meringue pie, but they didn't want it, so I ate it. I then offered them my new cupcakes, which I've made and Trixie had one! Sunburst didn't want the other one so I ate it. And it was–."

I needed to find Trixie. And I don't have time for Pinkie's shenanigans. I swiftly say "Pinkie! I asked where they were headed!" Pinkie giggles and she proceeds to hop around me. Pinkie replied "Yeah no! Sorry Starlight!" I left Pinkie by herself and I decided to head towards the center of Ponyville. I begin to think to myself.Why would Trixie hang out with Sunburst? I mean I know they have been friends, but Saint Patrick's Day? Granted this holiday isn't my favorite but I wouldn't have minded if Trixie had asked to spend this holiday with me.

As I continued to dash in the middle of Ponyville, I accidentally ran into Applejack. I end up lying on top of Applejack. In which she responds "Whoa nelly, where ya' headed to in such a rush Starlight?" I immediately got off of Applejack. And use a levitation spell to help her up. Lastly I set her down gently. I answered "I'm so sorry Applejack. I was just trying to find where Trixie and Sunburst went." Applejack raised her eyebrow and replied"I still don't get why you're in such a rush sugar cube?" I explain "I just realized how little I have spent with Trixie this month. And although I don't really like this holiday, I just want to spend it with my greatest gal pal."

Applejack says " Well I believe I saw them headed towards Twilight's Castle." I thanked her and ran at full speed towards Twilight's Castle. After what felt like an eternity I made it to my destination. I make my way to the stairs and I'm facing towards the door. As I attempt to open the castle's door, it whacks my face. And I'm sent flying down the stairs landing on my side.

I wince in agony, and I am met with a familiar voice."Oh goodness! I'm so sorry Starlight! I didn't mean for this to happen." Ah so it was Twilight. I answered "It's alright, Twilight. After all, I should have stood back further from the door." Twilight answered "Well since you're here let's get you inside and healed." I accept her offer and I follow behind closely. In the castle I decided to go to the library. I follow Twilight's lead and finally I see Trixie.

Trixie's eyes land upon mine, and somehow I find my stress that had been building from today ease. As if she had cast a spell to calm my mind. Sunburst stands up and asks"Starlight, are you alright!?! What happened!?"
