THE SMELL — of cigarettes lingered in the air, accompanied by music playing in the background and a whole lot of laughter. Sprawled out on the sofa was [name], lazily blowing the smoke out through her mouth, eyes half lidded as she scanned the crowd for a certain redhead.
A figure made its way towards her, carefully pushing her legs off the sofa to make some space before sitting down next to her, a grunt leaving its lips as its hand reached out for the cigarette in hers.
"Didn't bring your own?"
"You know it."her fingers loosened their grip around it, giving Renji the opportunity to take it. He brought it to his mouth, taking a long drag, letting the burning sensation linger before the greyish smoke filled the air. Seeing as there was nothing left of it the redhead flicked it out, disposing of it in the ashtray.
"You were supposed to be here one hour ago."
"I had something to resolve."
"Trouble in paradise again?"The male dismissively waved his hand around, an unbothered look on his face.
"When is there a day without trouble?"
"I don't know. You tell me?"IT WASN'T — uncommon for Renji to feel out of it. At this point, it concerned [name] more whenever he was doing fine than when he wasn't with how much he filled her head with their struggles.
He told her everything that could go wrong. From miscommunications, to clash of personalities to disatisfaction in the bedroom, there was not one thing that he hadn't opened up to her about.
After all,That's what friends are for.
Feeling rather dizzy from the smoke and the alcohol that lingered in her system she sat up, eyes glancing at Renji.
"What's up?"
"I'm hungry."The male sighed, looking around the room for something she could snack on. No luck this time.
"I could take you to mine's. I still have some leftovers from this evening."
She shook her head, slumping back into the sofa.
[name] couldn't do something like that. Not in the state she was in right now."It's fine, I remember I was supposed to grab something to eat with Ikkaku.. Look, there he is!"
Ikkaku seemed right in his element, lazily leaning against the bar with a horde of girls around him, in awe by his wild stories — that were usually made up — and intriguing adventures.
