part 1.
"Dude, you can't just go around throwing people in the air!"

The music was loud, the drinks and drugs finally making their effect on our system, and our memories of the hanged-up girl slowly drifted away. We decided we would go to a club the weekend to celebrate that Luke would join the Seven. It seemed cruel to think like that but all of us were on the same length; 61 students had already died, what's one more who we didn't even know?

At first, we all gathered around a table to celebrate between ourselves but after a while, we all just wandered off because we found something more interesting. I saw Cate and Drew living their best life while dancing in the middle of the dance floor. I was pretty sure Andre was after some girl he could go home with. And last I saw Luke, he was enjoying the attention he got from being recognized. I headed to the poker table and won for the fourth time in a row, while the other players kept getting either more and more upset or amused.

In the next round, I got three of a kind, so I got pretty confident, pushing half of my poker chips into the bet. When I won again, I celebrated with a big cheer and people applauded me, slapping me in the back and offering me more drinks. Except for my opponent.

– You cheated! – he accused, pointing at me with his finger.

– I didn't. You just don't know how to play and I got good cards. – I shrugged with a smile, way too happy for the wins I took.

– What are you even saying? Boy, I was playing long before you were even born! – he kept on shouting.

– I don't know why the fuck you are still playing then. Aren't you old enough to know when to take a loss? – I questioned, clearly dancing on his nerves.
