River Colden
I've been pacing back and forth in my room, unable to keep steady, and my hands starting to feel clammy as I wait for Keira to update me from inside the bathroom
I knocked on the door two times and called out for her when I couldn't hear any noise. "Kei? Is everything alright there?"
"Yeah! Everything's fine! Just waiting" She said with a relaxed tone so I knew there was nothing to worry about, but even with that reassurance, I couldn't help but still be worried.
Half an hour ago she broke an unexpected news to me. A news every man would either be frightened with or extremely excited for. In my case, I was the latter
When Keira said that her period had been later than usual and she felt as if she wasn't herself lately, I ran as fast as I could to the Pack infirmary and grabbed a pregnancy test without even saying a word to our Pack doctor.
I was so excited at the thought of her being pregnant that I couldn't wait any longer. It seems as if these five minutes of waiting for a result to come out felt more like five hours.
"Kei?" I knocked again. It was much too quiet for a few seconds and it worried me even more.
When there was no response, I opted to go inside because I could no longer stand outside without knowing anything
"Babe, I'm going inside, alright" I warned her seconds before entering and I saw her sitting on the closed toilet seat, pregnancy stick on her hand, and a gloomy look on her face.
I knew then that it was not the result we were both expecting.
"Oh, Kei..." I said softly and she looked up at me almost teary-eyed.
"I'm sorry, it's not- it's not a pup..." She bites her lip, trying to stop herself from crying.
I walked up to her and pulled her in my arms, reassuring her that she has nothing to be sorry about. "Sshh, don't be sorry, my love. I told you before we did this that whatever the result was, it wouldn't change a thing about our relationship."
