By nightfall, Arthur's house was quiet. A few hours had passed since the first round of the Desire Grand Prix.

To say that Aerith was shocked by what she had learned was an understatement. She'd just learned that in this world, her story was only there to entertain people in a video game.

What she and her friends had endured. The loss of her mother, Hôjo's experiences, the victims of the collapse of Sector 7, the ghosts of children, the victims of Cornèo... all this... to entertain people.

Arthur had tried to explain it to her in the least upsetting way possible. But given the context, it was difficult, especially as he wanted to hide certain things from her about his future. But he didn't know if it was to keep her safe from this fear or... to keep him hopeful that things would change.

She couldn't help wondering about it. Why did her story end up as a video game in this world? Did someone in this world get wind of her story and turn it into a video game?

At the moment, she was filming herself with one of the old telephones Arthur had given her, so that she could do some research, either on herself, or on this world where she was going to live until the end of the Desire Grand Prix.

"Well, uh... where to begin... My name is Aerith Gainsboroug. I'm the last of the Cetras. I... I lost my mother when I was very young, on the run from the Shinra. Then my adoptive mother took me in, and I've led a pretty normal life ever since. I fell in love with someone I hadn't heard from in years. Then I met someone else while selling flowers, and we became friends. And by the time we got to where he and his friends lived in the slums, I had to let myself be caught by the Shinra to protect a little girl."

She paused briefly and lowered her eyes.

"I was locked up, waiting for them to figure out what they were going to do to me. I have no idea what they were planning for me, but I'm sure of one thing, it wasn't going to be good. While I was imagining all the horrors Hôjo was planning to do to me for his "experiment", I was chosen to take part in this secret tournament called the Desire Grand Prix. Giving me the opportunity to transform myself into a Kamen Rider so I could fight these mysterious monsters called "Jyamatos"."

She raised her gaze again to the camera lens and caught herself smiling as she thought about the recent event in her life.

"I wasn't alone during the first round of this tournament. I was helped by Arthur, a really nice guy, who I have to live with until the end of the Desire Grand Prix, or I'll be disqualified. I must admit I was shocked to learn that my story in this world is nothing more than that of a video game... He was very understanding with me, and explained a lot of things to me. About his world, or what he knew about the hidden history of my world. He even told me about my father. Maybe he didn't know much, but having never met him, I'm still pleased... However... I have the feeling he's hiding something from me. I've tried to communicate with the planet, to get some answers... But it doesn't answer me."

Aerith sensed a presence in the guest room where she was staying and switched on the bedside lamp. In the corner of her room stood the navigator of the Desire Grand Prix.

"Tsumuri! What are you doing here?!" she asked.

"I hope you don't intend to share this recording, Mrs. Aerith. The Desir Grand Prix must remain a secret from those who are not participating. If you break this rule, you'll be disqualified," Tsumuri warned.

"No, it's just for me. It gives me the feeling of being entrusted to someone." Aerith replied, looking at the phone before squinting at the navigator. "How did you know what I was doing?"

"We have our ways. Now, remember, don't tell anyone. If it's just for you, you're not breaking any rules. But apart from you, the other participants, and the Desire Grand Prix staff, no one must see this video." warned the navigator before disappearing under Aerith's incredulous gaze.
