•Rush and Hoseok strolled through the bustling night market, their eyes scanning the not so crowded streets as they chatted about their latest assignments.
The neon lights of the food stalls and shops cast a colorful glow on their faces, highlighting their amused expressions.
Every day one pair of assassins, on the command from the higher ups, petrol around their selected area. It was their time, to petrol around the most undeveloped and backword area of the town they live.
There are barely people living around except some beggars and under educated group of thugs. Few shops are situated by government for necessity, which becomes the resident's only resources of staying alive.
And it isn't a lie, that it can be a greatest and bestest place for a criminal to stay.
That's why they petrol around here, in every second night. They maybe are teachers in the daylight but don't forget, they are the bestest Assassins, assigned by the government itself.
They have to take care of situations before it reaches the higher ups.
Rush, with her long, spiky hair and piercing black eyes, chuckled as she dodged a group of rowdy pedestrians.
"I can't believe I had to take out that target with a poisoned hairpin. So cliché, right?"
Hoseok, his dark hair messy and his eyes shining with mirth, snorted.
"At least you got the job done. I had to use a exploding pen. Talk about overkill."
As they walked, their trained eyes swept the surroundings, taking in the sights and sounds of the barely lively market. The smell of street food and exhaust fumes filled the air, mingling with the hum of vendors calling out their wares.
Rush snickered, her eyes glinting with mischief as she glanced at her best friend with a wide smirk planting on her face.
"Hey, at least we get to enjoy the nightlife. I mean, who needs a social life when you have assassination contracts?"
Hoseok rolled his eyes, his smile still evident. He kicked a small pebble before muttering in his husky voice.
"You're such a thrill-seeker, Rush. One day, you're going to get us both killed."
They both snicker at the statement before their banter was interrupted by a faint commotion at the end of the street.
Rush and Hoseok exchanged a knowing glance, their expressions instantly getting serious. Without a word, they melted into the crowd, their eyes locked on the potential target.
Rush and Hoseok navigated through the commotion, watching as people fought over trivial matters. They exchanged a tired sigh and intervened, effortlessly resolving the disputes.
They were oddly tired today and these small matters only help as a fuel in the burning fire. Sometimes they really do wants to beg for a leave but unlike other jobs in the country, theirs is different.
They can never have a rest.
They made the people out there, clear the way and solve the conflict but as they turned to leave, Hoseok's sharp eyes caught sight of a lone figure.
A boy, barely legal age, crouched in the darkness. Hoseok's gaze lingered, his mind initially dismissing the scene. But his instincts nagged him to revisit the sight.
