After they'd stepped outside the building, Clint had called Laura about the case, hoping she could gather some information that would help them. Eden decided to head straight to the apartment and leave the two to talk, knowing that she would get briefed by Clint later anyways.

Eden really needed a hot shower right now and maybe an hour of sleep. She was feeling exhausted and the half hour of sleep she got this morning wasn't enough to sustain her energy. Besides, it gave her time to process. Although, that was never good for the spy, she needed the time alone to sort some things out that went through her head.

Pealing off her clothes, Eden stepped into the shower and let the warm water run over her muscles. With the steam engulfing her, Eden's tension started to fade away and allowed her to relax. To let the warmth work its magic.

Despite, all the problems they had on their plates right now, Eden's mind kept wandering back to a certain, annoyingly quirky, archer. Eden didn't understand why, but the more she thought about it the more she realised how much she had started to care about Kate.

Normally, Eden was pretty good at compartmentalising and being able to separate work from own life and feelings. Even if Eden wouldn't say she was starting to catch feelings—she was starting to care.

For Eden that was just equally as bad.

Because caring made the mission personal. And the more personal it got, the more she had on the line and the more she had to lose. Caring was a dangerous thing in Eden's world.

And she wasn't sure if she could go through losing another person she cared about. Eden was sure it would break her completely this time and she wasn't sure she could come back from it. It would drown her.

After drying herself off, Eden pulled on her sleeveless tank top and a pair of comfortable sweatpants and dried her hair with the blow dryer she had found in one of the cabinets.

With somewhat dry hair, Eden stepped outside the bathroom and walked into the living room where Clint was sitting on the couch with packs of slushy's attached to his arms and legs.

"What did Laura say?" Eden asked.

"Jack's been busy." Clint informed her and turned off the mixer. Then he grabbed a cup and started pouring the red slush into it, "Sloan Limited had been laundering money to the Tracksuits for months."

"And how is Jack involved in this?" Eden asked, folding her arms in front of her chest as she leaned against the counter behind her.

"He's the CEO." Clint said.

Eden furrowed her brows. Had she really been that off about the man? When they talked to him earlier, he had seemed so...genuine and clueless. Either he was a great actor, or Eden had lost her touch. Although, owning that many swords was a little suspicious.

"You really think Jack is the mastermind behind all of this?" Eden asked, leaned back into the couch, her mind rattling at the thought.

"Everything we've gathered so far tells us that he is." Clint answered, his eyes thoroughly studying the girl across from him. "Unless we've got evidence that he isn't, I'm going with what we've got."

The intercom buzzed sharply through the apartment, breaking their conversation. Who could that be? Eden glanced at Clint, before getting up and walking over to the intercom speaker.
