Bryan stretched over to grab his cellphone where it sat and before he could say a word,a delightfully ringing voice of a lady piped out.
"Sweetheart, why did you run away from us?"
"Come on, Mom. Don't exaggerate that way.I didn't run off like you make it seem.I just need a little time alone from everything...."
"And family is part of that everything? What are you saying, son? You never even told anyone."
"Yeah,I know.Am an old man, remember? And I needa explore some sweet pleasures of the world on my own."
"But, George is still checking the backyard for you and calling your name.He doesn't know you ran away from us."
Bryan laughed as the loud little child sparked into his vision. He could imagine George screaming his name and pointing at his grandma who'd be eating sweet chocolate cake that she was meant to abstain from.Mrs Wilson was stubborn and everyone knew that but the child didn't seem to have it.
"Tell George I'd be back very soon.I miss you all really. All this doesn't mean I'm staying away forever."
"Even though you weren't willing to tell the others, you should have told me secretly."
Bryan laughed again, clearly picturing Mom's mischievous green eyes while she decided what she'd have done in her head.
"I know, Mom.But I wouldn't have liked it if y'all had called me to dinner to discuss safety in America."
"Come on, I've gotten older and I'm no longer like that. You can confirm that I no longer tell on....things."
Bryan and Mom laughed at the same time and the elderly woman paused and asked.
"Are you okay?"
"Yes, Mom.I hope y'all feeling fine over there."
"We are. Now, that I've heard your voice,We are.... So,tell me why you left us."
"I wanna find a little exploration in a little town somewhere."
"Don't get injured.Do not eat everything in that town.Do not talk to everyone so you don't get in trouble...."
"Yes, Mother.I'm no longer in college.See ya."
"And...."
"I'm in the bathroom...."
"Oh my, you should have told me.Remember I told you it's unhygienic to talk much in a bathroom. Is the bathroom okay? If it's not, find somewhere else.Or alert me so I'll tell Vince to do his job."
"I always remember, Mother."
"Okay...."
"Bye, Mom."
"Yes, dear.Momma will always love you."
"Okay.Yes.Goodbye."
"Goodbye." The old lady replied and blew a loud kiss before Bryan ended the call with a small smile on his face.
Surely, his mother was always on the move and would always sound so happy in her own comfort.
She had all that she'd ever wanted now and would always repeat the stories of how distraught and helpless she'd been back in her days. She would always tell him that having family was one great thing to ever achieve in his life and he'd just nod and smile like she did bring him up to react. But that didn't mean that he took it all serious.
Mrs Wilson enjoyed telling him to get someone who would make him happy and have a say in the life of his generations to come.In fact, she told him that was her wish for him.
It was a really tiring and daring road to take and he just wasn't ready for all that type of wish to come true.He was bad in every relationship outside. He just was not calm enough to acknowledge people and make anyone feel deserved....
"But can you remember how you noticed the lady earlier?"
Bryan blinked and came back to life.He didn't want to remember any sad lady from this town. So,he got himself out of the jacuzzi and grabbed a towel. He had to go to sleep. The surfing had gotten to his bones .Especially all through his thighs and hip down.

Summer took her slippers off and slowly slipped into bed and shut her eyes. The clock continued to tick to her ears but still, nothing made sense to her.She was frustrated and felt so aware all of a sudden. It was like an eye in her mind opened.
She had met someone who was capable of reminding her of who she had gotten and lost a few times back.
"Myles ....He would have been here making me laugh with those bright eyes he got. That infective humor. He would have been with Dad listening to tales about my life repeatedly. He would have been here making prideful comments on my little mistakes. And Dad would have been encouraging him and making me blush. He would have been around to try and distract me in the kitchen. He loved to give importunate, funny Dad lifts anywhere....But now,I'm just here alone.Worse, his family have dumped me.They never liked me in the first place....Especially his goddamned mother...."
Her eyes went wet and heavy again. She quickly sat up in bed and began dabbing at her eyes with the end of her blanket. She looked at the ceiling and shook her head.
"Grab the lavender Cait gave you and try...."
Summer sat on the side of the bed, snatched it from the nightstand and began to sniff it, hungry for peace but it didn't have any meaning. It gave no reason. In fact, she was annoyed she even tried it.It was useless in every way.
"It's because it's not just Myles, Summer darling. There is dad,too...."
"Oh my god...."Summer whimpered as she quivered all over her body and then let go of the plant in her hand.
The lavender plopped to the ground and she sniffed and began to dab at her eyes. She got to her feet and hurried for the bathroom.
She went towards the washbasin and turned on the tap then went ahead to splash water over her neck and face. She kept it up for long moments and soon paused to try and calm down.
"You were the cause, remember? You told them to...."
She went back to splashing the water on her face and washing tears off in the process.Oh,she was damn tired.
"Come on,go get your headphones. Why have you forgotten?"
Summer immediately went to grab her headphones but the vision of her Dad and Myles talking over the tv just four months ago kept running through her mind and so she increased the volume and shut her eyes.No help.
"Hurry out, then. To the waters. It is going to be quiet now.The breeze and this music will help you fight thoughts off.Go on.Sing out loud and dull the pain em all."
Summer did.
