'You think he is going to be okay?'

'Doctor said, we have to wait. This brain had a swelling when they brought him in. He is lucky to pull through the surgery.'

Yohan's head slightly buzzed when his ears picked him small conversation around him. He wanted to get up and tell them to shut up. But his whole body was in pain. His mind was not able to fully centralize his situation. A small groan escaped his throat. Slightly squinting his eyes he was finally able to open. Even though the brightness in the room made his eyes to take a few seconds to adjust.

' C-Call the doctor' it was the female's voice.

The voice made Yohan slightly tilt his head against the pillow and looked at the women standing beside him bed with black cane in her hand. ''E-Elijah?''

He mumbled when he finally recognized the female's face, which look a bit taller than before. He felt slight jitters when Doctor made his appearance in the room. He always hated the hospitals. He tried to push himself up and suddenly there were strong pair of arms assist him, he lift his gaze and notice the familiar face.

'lawyer ko?' ''Easy there, better?'' Lawyer ko said a small smile

"Yeah..." He mumbled, sliding his hand on his hair, noticing the bandage around his forehead.

'That explains the headache'

He Lift his gaze when suddenly the door yanked opened, A voice made his eyes widen with light surprise, like his nightmare came to haunt him.

"Yohan! You are awake." Gaon spoke with slight relief. Before Yohan could hold the grasp over what was happening, Gaon warped his arms around Yohan in warm embrace, Slightly patting his back. " You scared me to death you know.'' Gaon said before breaking the embrace and looking into his eyes with concerned '' Does it hurt anywhere?''

Gaon said, before lifting his hand touching the edge of the bandage with the lightest touch.

'' I-Isaac...?'' Yohan mumbled, while his eyes were trying to read the younger man who just looked at him with a surprise in return.

''Isaac?'' Gaon repeated. Yohan shake his head a bit before turning his gaze to Elijah. She looked older like few years older than he last saw she was no more 15 years anymore, and the young man looked like Isaac but at the same time the way he look at Yohan's eyes were very different from what he remember Isaac staring at him. With slight confusion he slid his hand up and smack away Gaon's hand which was touching his bandage.

"Don't touch me" Yohan said with coldness, and that made Gaon slightly repel his steps away from Yohan.

'' Who are you?'' Yohan asked, looking at Gaon.

"Yah! what you mean who is he? He is Gaon. Kim Gaon , your..-'' Elijah replied but Gaon's hand warped around her mouth before she could finished the sentence.

"I am Kim Gaon. um..your uh.. Colleague. We work together '' Gaon said before slowly turning his gaze towards the doctor who kind of guessed that there was something wrong with yohan.

"Mr Kang. what is the last thing you remember?" Doctor asked before taking his seat on the stool, holding Yohan's wrist to check his pulse.

'' I received the request to take part in the upcoming national live court trials, So I returned from Switzerland with Elijah and was driving home..'' Yohan said and than suddenly get's quiet as he head hurts bit, and somehow his heart felt a bit heavy.

'' I see. Mr Kang. what year you think it is?'' Doctor asked before getting up from his stool.

'' What kind of question is that, its September 2021. I am.. not sure about the date.'' He stated.

" Alright Mr kang. I need you to listen to me very carefully alright. You were in a car accident and the year is June 2024'' Doctor stated, Yohan's eyes widen with a light surprise, he looked at Elijah who was very surprise and the young man beside him leaned himself against the door while looking away from his direction.

'' So you are telling me I am suffering from a memory loss of 3 years?" Yohan asked, it was shocked to him but like always he was better in composing his emotions. Before doctor was about to reply Elijah asked him question. '' Is it ever going to come back?''

'' I need to do a bit more test, but according to what I believe and the swelling i notice in the brain when Mr Kang was in surgery. I believe its amnesia. To say His memory will come back next second, next day, next year or maybe it never will. uh Mr Ko and Mr Kim, please see me in my office.'' Doctor added as he take his leave.

Yohan notice the sudden pale expression on Gaon's face, His eyes drift towards the chain Gaon was wearing. 'Isacc's necklace'

'' we will see you in a moment ''Lawyer ko bowed and walked towards the door and pat Gaons shoulder to get his attention.

'' He will be fine. Elijah is here.''

''y-yeah. Elijah, I will be back, call me if you need me alright?'' Gaon said with a slight raspy voice before walking out and closing door behind him.

'' Why he is wearing Isaac's necklace?'' Yohan asked before turning his head towards Elijah, '' you... can walk..'' he added with slight tears in his eyes.

His eyes drift towards her legs and than back to her face.

'' Of course you dummy, We went back to Switzerland to get the treatment. I work very hard you know ''She said and touched Yohan's head, patting it. The gesture made Yohan slightly emotional. '' You can finally kill me.'' He added with a small smirk over his lips.

''Yah! Don't be stupid. I know its not your fault, and before you say anything. Yes I am not a kid anymore I am 18! you old man ''She stated and that made Yohan smile a bit. Somehow he wonder what else he missed.

'' Old man? since when. I am still pretty handsome'' Yohan replied, before leaning his back against the bed's frame.
Elijah sits on the spare bed beside him and grab the apple from the fruit basket.

''According to Mr Kang Yohan's report its proven that he is indeed suffering with memory loss. What I would advice is to give him support, any questions he might had, give answer to it, but not at once. You don't wanna overload his brain. When it come to memories. His memories can come back either all at once, one thing at a time or maybe never. Also try to do the activities similar to his taste, like show, outing, the food he like. Don't change the habit frequently, Sometimes to much changes can made person to develop different personality, and lets say he develop a different personality but his memories came back, in that situation two personality gonna have a very hard time to merge and sometimes it can create conflicts. Its not harmful but its very emotional challenging.'' The doctor explained.

'' I see.. when he would be able to take flight? we were attending the function here in korea, our friends wedding.'' Gaon asked.

'' Flight its out of question. At least not for the very first 2 week. I can make an appointment in next 2 weeks. If everything goes well with the recovery. you would be able to take Mr Kang back to Switzerland. I prescribe the medication make sure he take them daily with his dinner.'' Doctor hand the paper to Mr ko. Who nodded and looked at Gaon. '' I will go the pharmacy and see you back at Sir Kang's house. I know its shocking for you too. But Mr Kang is strong. He always find a way'' Mr ko tried to console Gaon who slightly nodded as small tears collected in his eyes.

He slightly sniffles with small sobs as his emotions took over.

'' Good evening Mr Kang'' Nurse knock the door as she walked it and placed the small bag on the empty chair.

'' On doctor's request, we washed your cloths, they are clean to wear. Your watch, wallet and ring are in small patch, would you like me to help you with dressing up?'' She said with a small smile.

''uh. Thank you, I can manage'' Yohan said and looked at his cloths, Elijah hand his the packet.

'' I will go outside and check what Gaon and Lawyer ko up to'' She said and slowly made her way out from the room. Yohan opened the packet, while his wondering since when Elijah started talking with people with so much confidence. Last time he remember she barely used to come out from the room and who was that Gaon person beside Lawyer ko. A splitting image of Isaac yet so different He dressed himself up and slide his wallet in his pocket. He grab his watch as he wear it his eye caught the golden band.

' Since when I wear rings?' He wondered.

He picked the ring and stare at it. He slowly examine his both hands to find any evidence of the ring's trace. Luckily he did on his right hand.

'' Is..it an engagement ring?'' He mumbled as he slid it in his finger.

' perfect fit'

but looking at it made Yohan uncomfortable, without any thoughts he slid it off and put it inside his coat's pocket.

'' Yohan, i am coming in'' Elijah's voice came after small knock on the door as she slid it open.

''Doctor said, we can leave. But our family doctor gonna come and see you everyday as you just came out from the surgery 19 hours ago.'' She informed.

Yohan slightly rolled his eyes before fixing his collar.

'' so you even know that I hate hospitals.''

'' Huh, of course. Gaon is the one who suggested it. We are well aware how much a big baby you are when it comes to hospital. Anyways let's go Gaon waiting in the car'' Elijah said.


'' He is coming with us?'' Yohan asked with the puzzle look, after all he was just a colleague.

'' w-well he came back to Korea to attend sister Jin joo's wedding. Not like he have his apartment anymore. Uh So we offer him to stay with us, simple as that.'' Elijah said with slight nervousness.

'' Mhm.. Jin Joo.. you mean Oh Jin Joo?'' He asked while slipping his arms inside his coat

. '' y-you know her?'' Elijah asked with sudden surprise.

'' Not really, but I remember reading her file. Her file came up when I was selecting the Judge position for the Live trials. Its been 3 years what happened to that project?'' Yohan asked as they slowly made their way out from the hospital.

'' Oh that. After 1 year later it was finally over. You expose so many people even the crappy President.'' She added with unpleasant expression.

'' What about the Minister.?'' He asked following right behind her.

'' Oh Cha Kyung-hee? huh. Dead, super dead dead'' She said before pressing down the elevator button.

By knowing that Cha Kyung hee was dead Yohan had so many questions regarding what and how that happened. but Elijah told him to asked Gaon about it as he knew about it all in detailed. When the car approached and stop right in front of Yohan and Elijah, Gaon rolled the window down.

'' I got the discharge papers and medical record for Doctor Su'' He stated.

when Yohan and Elijah settle down on the back seat , Gaon drive to home in silence. His slightly glance at Yohan from the dashboard mirror, When he notice that Yohan caught his gaze he looked away and put his gaze on the road to focus. Yohan stared the young man driving as his eyes slightly glance at him, His eyes slightly squint with curiosity when he notice the same style golden ring band on Gaon's finger.

'' You are wearing a jewelry ring, your ring, which brand it is?'' Yohan asked, he picked on Gaon's sudden hesitation towards his question.

''I-Its Zen Moissanite. Actually you are the one who gift it to me, Ah also you might have the second pair with you, as you were planning to get it resized for my fiancé'' Gaon made up the excuse.

" So you are telling me that we are close enough that I gift you and your fiancé the expensive brands?'' Yohan asked with curiosity, his guts were telling him that Gaon was lying to him about it, His eyes slowly drift to the sleeping face of Elijah. He look at her with fondness.

Gaon on the other hand felt a bit jolt of pain in his heart, it was hard to talk with Yohan, he knew how Yohan was the very first time they met. Their relationship was like the pull and push. Lot of trust issues but they finally able to pull through it and now all of it was gone in a blink. When Gaon parked the car in the parking lot. He opened the door and carry the sleeping figure of Elijah in her arms.


'' I will carry her." He said and slowly made his way inside the house with Yohan. Yohan looked at the house, The house still reek of sadness and unpleasant memories.

"Welcome back Master Yohan, Master Gaon'' Ms.J bowed as the young man's made their appearance.

" Thank you Ms. J i will go and tuck Elijah in her room, she had a tough day'' Gaon said and made his way to the upstairs. Yohan's eyes happened to stare him.


' He even know where Elijah's room is, was not its his first time here?'



''Master Yohan, are you okay?" Ms. J asked with slight concerned.

"Are you worried about me?'' He asked with amused look, '' I am alright. Anyways I wanted to ask. This young man.. Gaon i believe his name is. Have he been here In this house before? You called him 'master'" Yohan before taking his seat on the couch.


'' Yes, Ah because his face resemble Isaac a lot. He asked me not to call him master, but i cant help it. And yes he have been in this house before, you bring him yourself when the bombing incident happened at your office. Master Kim Gaon was very injured.'' Ms. J informed.

' So I bring him home? instead of sending him to the hospital?, Just a colleague, who also close to my family? Nonsense '


'' I see. Can you make me a cup of tea? I am having a bit of headache. '' Yohan said and Ms j nodded before walking to kitchen.

Yohan slid his hand inside his pocket and pulled out his phone, He turn it and looked at it, his phone was different brand than the last time he remember using. Fortunately his phone was able to unlock with his thumb print. When the home screen opened up, he could not help but to stare it, It was the picture of Elijah and Gaon with Kkomi in the garden.

"I guess I trust him enough that I , Allowed him to be this close to Elijah, and close enough that He have Isaac's necklace'' He whispered to himself. His eyes glance over Gaon who walked downstairs after tucking Elijah in her best.

'' Elijah's is resting. Is there something you need help with?'' Gaon asked as he approach Yohan.

'' There is no need.'' Yohan said, before grabbing the book in front of him, cover stated between good and evil.

'' Just a question, you said earlier that we were co workers correct? but you seems very familiar with my house. Ms J told me, I bring you here after some bomb event, what's that about?'' Yohan asked, He thanked ms j when she had him the tea. Glancing at both young men as she slowly leave.

'' Ah that. it was on the night of Social charity event. um I was in your office to discuss with you about the JU chemical trial's information. In middle of our conversation we notice the sound of bombing which was planted behind the painting when the Trail room was created, People from foundation were behind it, according to what you told me. When the bomb trigger I kind of shield you, because we did not knew who planted that bomb so for safety you bring me at your place, because your place had a good security, And until I healed You advice me to stay here, that's why I am used to of the area of this house. '' Gaon explained calmly. Yohan listened to him with proper focus while taking some sips of his tea.


'' Elijah told me Cha Kyung Hee is dead'' Yohan asked.

'' Oh yes. well because of what happened with Elijah in the past, the church fire and she used, hurt lot of people to climb up the higher position. You used your trials to trap her. But before she could give us the information file on Foundation, She shoot herself in her office. '' Gaon said with a deep breath . '' That topic is always uncomfortable for me '' He added slowly.


'' You know about Church fire?'' Yohan asked with small hint of surprise.

'' Yes, the fire in which Isaac and his wife died, and you shield Elijah when building collapse on you both.'' Gaon said and that made Yohan laugh like a mad man for a moment.

'' ah wow. we must have been very close that you know all about my past'' Yohan said with coldness.


'' we were not close at first. but it took lot of time for us to be on same page.'' Gaon added.

Yohan looked at him, before raising his hand touched Gaon's cross necklace, his eyes slightly turn a bit emotional as he remember Isaac.

'' Ah this necklace. Would you like me to give it to you.?" Gaon said as he raise his hands to grab the chain as he was about to unhook it, Yohan grab his wrist and stop him. '' No. I gave it to you yes?''

Yohan asked and Gaon look at him for a moment before nodding. '' Thank keep it. It suits you.'' Yohan said looking at Gaon with fondness.

Somehow it made Gaon uncomfortable, he knew that Yohan often look Isaac in him. '' You are just like him'' Yohan added slowly and that made Gaon gets up from his seat, His chest felt a bit tighter.


'' I-Its late, We should rest. '' He said, Yohan looked at his hesitation.

'' Yeah'' Yohan placed his tea cup on the table as he stand up from his seat, and he walked upstairs, Gaon followed right after him as his old room was right opposite side of Yohan.

When Yohan was about to enter Gaon called his name.

'' Yohan '' His name made Yohan turned and look at the younger man.

'' I know its hard for you to look at me, because of the pain about losing your brother. I can understand it but, '' He gets quiet .

''but?' Yohan asked.

'' I am Not Isaac. '' Gaon whispered, before looking at him with slight reddish eyes, turning his back on Yohan as he walked to his room and close it behind him. Yohan was quiet, he take a deep sigh


' of course you are not him'

Gaon slide his back against the door as he squatted down, looking down at his engagement ring. '' What Am I gonna do...Yohan''




^* ~ '' What if you forget me one day?'' Gaon asked, pressing the back of his head against Yohan's chest, letting his head snuggle against Yohan's neck.

~'' It would never happened, lets say even if it did, you are hard to ignore'' He chuckled before kissing Gaon's temple, pressing his lips against his cheek as he whisper .

'' My heart will find you'' He stared at Gaon before cupping his face and lean into a soft kiss '' I love you Kang Kim Gaon''

~ '' You seriously want me to take your name huh'' Gaon chuckles , before warping his arms around Yohan and deeply returning the kiss

'' I love you more my Kang yohan'' ^* '' Would you be able to find me?'' Gaon softly muffled before closing his eyes and buried his head over his knees.

Yohan grabs the ring out from his pocket and stare it, wondering Gaon's words.

'' Love Yohan'' He mumbled looking at the initial carved on the base of the ring.

'' There was no one in my life, who I wished to protect before '' He opened his bedroom window, looks outside the dark sky, He look at the ring.

'' nor anyone will ever be.'' His lips curve into a small smirk as he loosen his grip on the ring and let it fall.

'' Kim Gaon. I need to get rid of him. He is a risk factor. '' He whispered before sliding his phone out and Text K.
