Jane Smith is a regular high schooler with no intentions to be wrapped up in anything but school.
----
It's Friday morning, Lydia runs up to Jane to greet her at her locker with excitement. "Why are you so happy this morning?" asks Jane."Because we are going to the lacrosse game tonight!"
"no way I am not going I have too much homework."
"Jane it's Friday. you don't have a choice you're going with me. "
"fine but if it sucks you owe me something."
"deal."Jane then slams shut her locker and proceeds to class.
*LATER THAT DAY AT THE LACROSSE GAME*
"This is going to be so much fun!" Lydia states as they walk up to the bleachers to find seats.
Jane didn't reply because she was preoccupied as she watched a boy on the field.
"Lydia who's the boy wearing the 9 jersey?" Jane asks.
"oh that's Liam, he's a freshman but I don't think he's you're type."
Jane ignored the last part of the sentence and just stared at him.
right before the game started Liam's eyes caught jane's and she immediately looked away and blushed. Liam smiled and put on his helmet.
Jane sat through the game just watching number 9 not caring about the actual game. eventually beacon hills ' won and everyone cheered except Jane. Liam noticed her watching him the whole game and didn't mind. he thought she was very cute and realized they had study hall together but never knew her name.
"oh my god I think he's looking at me," Jane thought. "His eyes are SO blue. he's so hot."
Liam walked over to Scott McCall after the game. "Hey Scott who's the girl with the brown hair next to Lydia?" Liam asked
"that's Jane Smith, why?"
"no reason, I just think she's cute."
"oh man you should totally ask her out, bro."
"maybe."
Lydia started to leave. "You coming?" Lydia asked to Jane.
"Uh yeah I'll be there in a minute."Lydia left while Jane sat there pretending she was on her phone while looking at Liam. Liam noticed and walked up to her.
"Hi I'm Liam." He said.
"Jane. Great game you played."
"thanks. you seemed really focused while I was playing."
Jane blushed and looked away.
"hey do you want to get coffee tomorrow?" Liam asked.
"Yeah that would be great."
They exchange numbers in each other's phones.
"Great I'll see you tomorrow bye. " Jane said.
"Bye!"Jane walked to Lydia's car and got in. "What took you so long?" Lydia asked.
"Oh nothing I just got asked out I think."
"Really?! by who?!"
"that Liam kid. I think he noticed me staring at him during the game. we're getting coffee tomorrow."
"That's great! you're coming over tomorrow right after and giving me details!"
Jane laughs as Lydia starts the car and they go home.*THE NEXT MORNING*
Jane wakes up around 8:00 woken up by her phone. She has texts from Liam saying to meet him at the Café at 9.
she rushes to the bathroom to take a shower. She puts on a sun dress and blow dries her hair straight. She puts on some makeup but not much just some mascara and eyeliner with a little lipstick. she leaves at 8:45 so she won't be late.when she arrives she's a few minutes early and goes inside. She sees Liam and walks over.
"Hi Jane! Wow you look.... you look beautiful." Liam stutters.
Jane blushes and smiles. "Thank you! haha you don't look too bad yourself."
while they drank coffee they talked for a long time about themselves and other things like school. Jane gets a text from Lydia saying "How's it going?" Jane peers at her phone but turns it off. Liam starts breathing heavily and puts his hands on his head. "Liam what's wrong? Are you okay?!" Jane asks worriedly.
"I have... To ... go." Liam says and runs out.Jane was surprised and thought it was a little rude. "What just happened?" she thought. "Did I do something wrong? I hope he calls me."
Jane leaves and goes to Lydia's house to talk.
